Fame Jet VS Prestige Jet

Dear Colleagues,
Recently heard that PJ has gone down the drains in Abu Dhabi. Also heard that Fame Jet is the Dumb Deeb Brothers' new entity. Can any one confirm?
Thx.

can anyone please tell me if they are that bad even with this new name?

KANELA 12th Aug 2012 20:26

they have no current positions available in their website, however i know they called many many girls asking them to join, and almost all of them refused, it looks so weird and misterious, as if they are hiding sth on the phone, still i dont know cos i wanna move to uae, but i am not sure if i will make the right decision joining them.

Response to Kanela

Dear Kanela,

UAE is a very expensive place to live with most flats requiring large cash-in-advance payments, as will vehicle, utilities, mobile, etc., also require large up-front cash inputs. It would be very difficult to come to UAE and invest all the upfront costs in a situation in which you will be paid sporadically or not at all - this is a huge risk to take on; in this case, a well-known high risk.

As one who has a judgment, for two years now, from the Labour Court of Abu Dhabi ordering Prestige Jet to pay me my salaries and dues, but having not yet received my salaries and dues, I can only wonder what will cause them to pay you under a new company name in a different Emirate if they are not capable and willing to respect the authority of the Labour Court of Abu Dhabi in such matters.

Then there are the other matters which have been discussed in some detail in this thread, such as Ex-Terminator's experience with the technical issues and the others' analyses of various issues such as the significance of utilizing the US FAA N-registered aircraft in the manner described.

I cannot predict with absolute certainty how they will behave, which is what your question is, but I can tell you that my opinion is overwhelmingly negative on this question. You must decide on what level of risk you can afford to take. If you can find an employer without such a consistent record of not paying employees, lessors and suppliers - as well as disrespecting the judgments and orders of the Court - you will greatly reduce the risk to yourself. It is interesting to hear that so many flight attendants are declining invitations to work for this company, now in its third or fourth incarnation but with the same leadership and management, each time. You are correct to see this as a bright red flag and to consider your options.

I wish you luck and will be happy to join others in welcoming you to UAE, but preferably with an employer whose greatest predictability is in a category other than unwillingness to pay its employees.

Kanela, if you want to fly for a business jet operator in the UAE, I'd stick to the following operators:

In Dubai:

Execujet Middle East
Dubai Air Wing

In Abu Dhabi:

Royal Jet
Presidential Flight (Amiri)

With others, you're really rolling the dice on any number of issues ranging from late pay to poor working conditions/low pay/no job security.

If you want a truly safe and secure gig, go to Emirates or Etihad... you'll be paid less, work hard, but it's about as safe as it gets.

KANELA 14th Aug 2012 18:49

Thanks for your posts Kangarooflyer and Be careful,

Kangaroo, I heard so much negative feedback from them, and I shouldnīt take the risk. I canīt imagine a company in such a wealthy city as Abu Dhabi not paying its employees and even ignoring the law in such a strict company.
Well, do you know if a employee join its company and after 2 months wanna resign, they will be ok with that? I mean if I wanna jump to another operatior in Uae...
Be Careful, thanks for your info, well I lived before in Abu Dhabi, and I am ex crew in "The best airline in the world", and true, less money and working very hard thats why i jumped to private........ All these airlines you mentioned I know them, as far as I know, Execujet Dubai is not recruiting flight attendants at the moment, and others like royal, amiri, they recruit like one or twice a year, and i think is easier once i arrive in Uae, most of them required you to be already based in Uae.
I know I will take a risk saying this but imagine i join the company we are talking about, i am not happy, and want to jump to another private after 2 months, do u think they will transfer my visa (if they do first) or they will cancel it and I have to go back home and come back??
And I go beyond, how they think I will survive in Uae if they dont pay my salary, its crazy!!
Thanks

To Mutt,
This happens also in Spain and some bad airlines in Europe, I worked in Me for 3 years and never happened to me before but I was in big companies, commercial, regarding private/corporate in Uae is a field that still ignore, but I will discover very soon.

BeCareful 17th Aug 2012 06:43

Kanela, you can quit with as little as 7 days notice while on probation which can be anywhere from 3 to 6 months depending on the company.

Oldwoman 20th Aug 2012 06:15

Royal Jet

Don't go there......looks good from the outside but festering on the inside. :=

Used to be a great company to work for but now full of moaners, groaners and low morale and the job security is not what is was....fancy being sacked, demoted or even offered a job that never materialises?

But you wont be locked up in jail and banned from leaving those countries if you owe money and cant get paid...but here in the Gulf you sure can....be very very careful....

EX TERMINATOR 20th Aug 2012 13:06

A \Couple More Things

Kanela,
Two more things to add;
1. outfits like PJ (now Fame Jet or whatever the new name might be) have managements that are well connected with the various ministries (including the Ministry of Labor and Justice) and Authorities (including GCAA). This was achievable through bribes mainly.
2. No matter how honest and hard working you are, once you enter their bad books due to trying to make your voice heard, they will fix something for you with the police and courts. You will end up against one of two options: leave the country ASAP leaving everything behind and relinquishing all of your entitlements; or end up locked in jail for an "imaginary" crime that you are supposed to have committed.

Therefore, I will re iterate what other colleagues have said amongst their other valuable advices: be very very careful..you are in the Middle East.
Best Wishes,
EX.

Yet Another PJ/FJ Supporter With Substandard English

Adriansky,
Unless you have a hidden agenda, or pretending to be an "outsider", I advise you not to jump to conclusions. As Gulfstreamaviator pointed out, there is a well known history here. If you are really interested in knowing the truth and in helping to make it known to others whom Deebs are pursuing and conning into working for them, I advise you to spend some time reading relevant threads and posts. PPRUNE is a good means of reaching out to people for an early warning before it is too late. We owe it to any honest professional seeking a decent employment opportunity. This would not be at PJ or Fame Jet for sure.:=

PJ/FJ

I strongly believe that where ever Prestige Jet is mentioned, Fame Jet should also be mentioned and vice versa. After the truth of PJ was exposed to tens of thousands of people, Deebs were forced to change the name to become Fame Jet so that people would forget the name Prestige Jet. These are two ugly faces of the Deebs that people should continue to relate and see, until such a time when justice is done.
