Looks like it's time for you to update that Easyjet application again. But I'm afraid they might be rejecting you again. Like everyone else did for the past ten years.

I know. You've been trying. But even Easy is rejecting you. Must be tough being stuck at EK because nobody else would be hiring your sorry ass. Only hobby is name calling on pprune. Nice.

I want to again thank all the pilots that PM me about ED. I notified the IRS this week about ED and they were most interested in the 14 week bonus (X 4) that management received last year. They also wanted to know his annual salary which I don't know but I put it at $120,000.
The IRS will be following up on this matter and that is music to my ears.

Finally we have somebody who thinks about a farewell present for our loved leaders...
After having endured this fine gentlemen leadership :yuk::yuk::yuk:

Thanks bro....:ok:
I am with you

But please be creative to all the leaders that will leave soon...
Rumors are heard, that it will be quite a few... AR,TC, AS,....

We will miss all gr:yuk:ly :{:{:{:{

Oblaaspop 5th Dec 2009 07:48

Mate,

If you honestly think the departure of TC will be a good thing for this airline, you are a fool!

He may not be a particularly nice chap - apparently (though I have never met him), but he is 'kin good at running this BUSINESS... Who else is gonna do it? MF with his walking stick or Shk A with his weekly trips to CMN? Think about it!!

As for the others (especially AAR), the sooner they go the better IMHO!

trimotor 5th Dec 2009 14:30

Concur with the thoughts about TC. Might not like what you hear sometimes, but he's no fool.

woodja51 6th Dec 2009 04:10

TC

I have had TC on the flight deck for a few hours some years ago.

My impression is that he, like all of us has certain political capital that he uses on a daily basis. Some fights he might win and some he might lose.

But I do think he deserves a lot of credit for the business position of EK.

I believe that if one could make a good business case he would be prepared to look at anything too by the way. But he did express concern about basings and unionism etc affecting the management.

I actually invited him up when he was on his way to Oz to discuss extra EK flights with Tony Albanese at the time.

He stayed for two hours like I said, and seemed happy to be up there and chatting to us.

HIs brother is a 74 skipper with BA I think so I do think he has some idea about pilot stuff - but then again a BA 74 skipper might have cast his opinions about all pilots in general too!!!

PS- I am not a company A** licker but gotta give credit where it is due even if you dont agree all the time...jeez what am I saying...!! sound like a liberal pinko!!

I do agree about TC. He is a clever businessman and good salesman. He lacks the HR gifts though.
In business as in the military there is a common wisdom that leaders are good at certain things, less gifted at others. It is also know throughout the sports world that managers have some kind of expiry date.
TC was certainly good at building up EK, giving it a good brand.
Now that it is established, his time has come. He is not the kind of manager to sustain a successful business, some other characters are better suited for that. We need a breath of fresh air that can keep the team together. I know of no one that would belittle TCs success, but no one likes him. Not that this is a necessity in todays airline environement, but if you end up with leaders that anytime they publish something the subordinates experience a rush of bad adrenaline, then you have a problem. MF is senile, thus excused, TC hates pilots we therefore hate him, both seem to know the other's value though. It's another story with AAR. He is simply incompetent and irresponsible because untouchable. AS and ED are deplorable despots only.
With such a team it is not astonishing that people leave even without good perspectives, that people apply but don't show up. It is not the evil western media' it is home made from Dubai Inc and the abysmal leadership.

JTrain 6th Dec 2009 18:13

For those of us who are non-EK, what is the story on this ED?

Thanks,

JT

tbaylx 6th Dec 2009 21:09

He's an Ex shorthaul Northwest type. Was involved in teh union then management there and unfortunatley for EK saw fit to come to the sandpit. Notorious for writing ill thought out FCI's and in the running for the most unproffesional manager ever in aviation. Some of the email replies guys have got from him would be funny if they weren't so bad. He basically doesn;'t have a clue and goes out of his way to be a a**hole.

CAYNINE 7th Dec 2009 04:44

Pretty much sums it up..... Did you miss lier? He was apparently (according to him) a long haul 747 pilot......:ok:

BobDole 7th Dec 2009 08:47

He must be counting all those "hard hours" he logged playing with his "joystick" in that mircosoft flight sim game!

mensaboy 7th Dec 2009 14:49

ED's biggest problem is that he lacks intelligence. He spends most of his limited brain-power on how he can be the best sycophant (a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite) with little consideration for anything else.

ED is also in the running for;
-Least intelligent aviation manager ever
-President of the local chapter of ''Illiterates of America''
-Most foolish recruitment example at EK
-Only member of the Capt America fan club (you could write a book on these 2 guys)
-MISTER Delusional
- King of the Idiots

Even though ED is in his sixties, he was not hired for a 2 year stint. Clearly AAR saw in ED the qualities that he desired in a subordinate (a kiss-ass primarily) but also someone who is incapable of comprehending the reason he was hired. ED, sadly for him, was hired to be the message boy and take the brunt of the anger regarding stupid policies. I doubt ED even recognizes that fact now.

ED was asked to leave (retire, haha), as a face-saving gesture and reward for his inexplicable and disturbing need to-do-as-he-is-told! He would make a good General for a Bush government, yet a bad General in all other regards.

Rarely have I witnessed as many examples of stupidity and lack of understanding of even the basic principles of management, from one person. I don't wish ill-will upon this simple man because I don't think he is vindictive or mean spirited, but should the IRS take action against him, I won't shed a tear.

''ED is just not very smart'', which pretty much sums up his life.

He is a product of his upbringing and culture and for that we should feel more pity than anger, towards him.

Dropp the Pilot 7th Dec 2009 15:00

OY....

"He is a product of his upbringing and culture and for that we should feel more pity than anger, towards him."

I will use that sentiment to temper my attitude towards you, I suppose. Ed has said a lot of excruciating things to me it is true, but at least he never displayed condescension to the degree of patiently explaining the meaning of "sycophant" to me.

You, sir, are a monotonous, splenetic tsunami of bilge-water.

Incidentally, it takes a little more than typing "Bush" in every one of your dreary posts to demonstrate the world-weary political sophistication to which you aspire.

Pitch Up Authority 7th Dec 2009 15:14

Hello Dropp the Pilot

What culture were you brought up in ?

Did you choose your name yourself ?

I must agree however that if you pass the EK selection board you must be mentally sane unless a company doctor decides otherwise.

White Knight 7th Dec 2009 21:35

Dropp - I have to agree with you.. As I've pointed out before Mensaboy is an oxymoron.. Mensa - do I need to patiently explain that one to you?? Interesting that you say you mean Ed no ill will - after all you did post a couple of weeks back that you wanted to kill him:rolleyes: or something along those lines:hmm:
Whatever Ed's failings I'm very happy NOT to fly with you Mensaboy - you would irritate me.......

nolimitholdem 8th Dec 2009 18:54

Ah well, I guess you know what guys who have to fly with you feel like then. C'est la vie. (Rough translation, "That's life".)

I thought Dropp finally succumbed to his self-loathing and killed himself? Did someone else pick up the moniker?

On topic, who else is going to Ed's going-away party? I hope no one told him about it.

millerscourt 8th Dec 2009 19:10

White Knight.

Of course you agree with Droopy because you are two of a kind in as much as you both reduce yourselves to the lowest common denominator in name calling which shows a lack of intelligence. Neither of you would qualify for joining a debating society for sure.

oz in dxb 9th Dec 2009 03:12

ho hum, what was the thread about girls???

TheyCallMeTrinity 10th Dec 2009 11:55

I totally agree we aren't generally a culture that rats out others. I suggest we leave the worthless ASR's and tax evasion non-sense to our "friends" down under. Culturally the are much better suited for excessive paperwork and pointless rhetoric.

On a lighter note, What's with Ed's; Howard Hughes in the later years look?

Edited for the posts I binned, EGGW
