Hi,

regarding wife and kid(s) do they provide tickets right away after you have been hired or you have to go first apply for yourself regarding the immigration and after bring your family etc....

I don't know if it's true but I heart about a guy declining an offer on the A320 and been offered a position on the T7 and on the top of that he's low hours, his hours are on the NG, I doubt but............

Thanks.

Flightstats 23rd Sep 2011 13:53

@Menikos

From what i know you can bring your wife along directly..its you that decides the timing. You will have to bring her in on a visitors visa which is extendable once after which she will have to apply for the residence permit.

I have noticed that all your posts here concern the fleet..so I guess you are worried of ending up on the A320 and want to get the T7 like most people here..
Well maybe this has happened but this is not standard, you take what they offer or you leave it.Things can change at the very last minute or sometimes you get lucky and get a widebody course although you were foreseen for the A320.
There are guys with NG experience on the T7 but they have at least 3000 hrs ...
Only way to find out is to apply and see what you get offered!!!:ok:

flyforfood1 23rd Sep 2011 14:28

You have 12 months from DOJ to bring your wife and kid(s) out on a free ticket, after that you'll have to do it on ID90, the same with cargo 12 months from DOJ.

With regards staff travel its not eligible to family i.e parents/brothers/sisters until after 3 months of DOJ, if your not married you get and ID90 AND ID50 for each of them, if you are married you get an ID90 OR ID50 (so basically only one ticket), this is done per year Jan -> Dec, they are eligible for Business class or Economy.

Oh and your wife's family get nothing! :ugh:

To answer "JonBJ"

B777 Capt - F/O is 24 Sectors including FLC

Line Training has a route structure to enable you to cover all bases

If you are TR this I believe is reduced to 14

May the farce be with you

Bonus in Qatar Airways

....
Hello to you all .... I wonder .. does QR pays bonus for pilots :confused::confused:... My friend in the Emirates .. Was paid approximately $ 30,000 per year ..:hmm:

TwoTone-7 24th Sep 2011 19:03

QR had a 20% payrise this year and a small bonus. Not as big a bonus as your friend at EK. Afraid you might need to join him at EK if you're looking for that amount.

Flightstats,

loc22550 25th Sep 2011 04:36

prmpilot 25th Sep 2011 22:11

QR after the interview??

Did the whole thing with 8 others on Sept 13. All of us went through the sim. Any idea of how long they take to get back to you? Going on 2 weeks now....

SkyMan2011 26th Sep 2011 01:14

Be patient and relax my friend!
I did my assessment on September 6th and I'm still waiting for news!
Good luck for us!
Cheers:ok:

PT6A 26th Sep 2011 01:26

My friend did his QR interview on Sept 6, he was contacted by QR on Sept 13th.

PT6A

prmpilot 26th Sep 2011 02:11

PT6A,

Was he offered the job or declined?

SkyMan2011 26th Sep 2011 02:17

Usually negative news come first up to one week.
They take some time after the assesment day to arrange you in a suitable course.
They said me that I would expect some answer in three weeks.

SkyMan2011 26th Sep 2011 02:20

My friend did his QR interview on Sept 6, he was contacted by QR on Sept 13th.

blusky75 26th Sep 2011 04:00

A ciccio fatte na camomilla !!!!!

imnotwhoyouthinkiam 26th Sep 2011 06:26

Everyone is throwing dates out there, but no one is bothering to state:

1. Where did they do the interview
2. What position are they applying for
3. What they are currently flying/experience.

There are dozens of factors guys, and hundreds of applicants.

mxa320 26th Sep 2011 06:37

Good evening Gents three questions still linger in my mind, If anybody would kindly enlighten me i would be very gratefull.

1. If you are a DEC typed in the A320 but for any reason you get assigned something different are you still bonded?

2. After getting accepted and assigned a type whats next what are the next steps after you get to Doha?

3. Is there any mobility between fleets for DEC?

Thank you!

TwoTone-7 26th Sep 2011 07:25

mxa320

If you are offered a different a/c i.e Boeing - You will be bonded for 3 years.

If you are offered A330/340 then there is a shorter bond for CCQ and short course guys. Yet, there is still bond.

After you get to Doha you will do the administrative stuff, get you resident permit, caa medical etc and wait for a start date for the TR course - if need be.

21-Lancer 26th Sep 2011 10:47

@TwoTone-7

QA has any specific interest in recruiting Type Rated pilots, or it doesn't matter if you are rated or not?

zerotohero 26th Sep 2011 17:07

Slightly off topic

I am updating my logbook to scan and email with applications to a few middle east airlines and they are wanting up to the last 3 pages in my logbook

now I really really cant be bothered to put in every sector or every day as not done it for a year, I was wondering if it would be acceptable to put in months hours on one line and send it that way or if it would come across as bad form?

SkyMan2011 26th Sep 2011 20:29

Logbook

zerotohero

I think that you must be as much orginized as possible logging sector by sector day by day. It will help you specially to validate your licenses for QCAA.
The Airlines are very concerned about fake logbooks.
Try to get and fill your log in a detailed manner and you wont have any problem.
Cheers!:ok:

QA Interview Invitation

The interview invitation is sent by email or they are calling?
I remember I thicked "phone" as preffered contact method and now I'm thinking of change it to email. Would it be a good ideea, or I should jus live it as it is?

gdukkoq 27th Sep 2011 06:32

All the communications I had with them was via emails. Unless you call them.

Gypsy 27th Sep 2011 08:53

Devine Wind - can I just ask if your 747 time was as in command. Good luck with the decision.

Positive-Climb 27th Sep 2011 09:31

After carefully reading the massive threads on pprune regarding QR, a few questions.

- Are there any cases known that people have been contacted after the 90 days period? I am quite aware of the amount of work QR recruitment has, and we have to be patient, but i'm closing in on the 90 day mark. Still no reply. Are they very strict with that limit?
- Been to the recent roadshows, very informative, very friendly gents, but has anybody heard anything regarding those days?

For extra info, I tick all the requirement boxes of QR, just shy of 2200 hours TT, all on TP, so applying as Fast Track So. I know the demand for cpts and f/o are higher currently. Just wondering if the FTSO is slowing down a bit? Thanks so much! Looking forward in joining!

Positive Climb

Regarding the roadshows recently at Heathrow and Manchester I went along myself and haven't heard anything back if it helps and I'm 2850TT on 737.

Regards

safelife 27th Sep 2011 19:51

Tell them it's 777 PIC or no show, you might succeed.
QR A320 PIC is really no option for someone with your experience.

WELCO 27th Sep 2011 22:23

Tell them it's 777 PIC or no show
That's double-edged! I know the HR guys at QR very well.. They could simply reply by asking "Are you joining an airline company or a fleet?!". Well, of course both... But the intent of the question is not so nice, is it?

You can strictly demand the 777 only if you are not so keen to get the job.

Good luck.

QR>> POSITION SCALES

Can anyone explain THE ((10 SCALES )) please..:( .. from second officer until captain (( top scale ))

How many years to go from scale to another ?:confused:

what is the salary estimate (75 hrs/month , hosing , all allowance
) ...for each scale .... If any one can I would be really appreciate

loc22550 28th Sep 2011 11:27

John don't known the figures for second officers and number of scale if there is..
But for
-F/O, senior F/O have 5 scales..means you gone have an annual salary increase on your basic(3..4%) the First 5 years in your respective grade, after that no increase anymore
F/O basic salary goes from 21500QR(entry salary) to 24190QR (after 5 years)
SFO goes from 24200QR to 27240QR(after 5 years)
1 year= 1 scale. and related to your Basic salary.

-Captain haves 10 scales..means they gone have an annual salary increase for the first 10 years: goes from 31000QR(entry level) to 40460QR(after 10 years of being a captain,).

-Flying allowance: F/O:90QR/H SFO:105QR/H CPT:120QR/H
-Utility 300 QR/Month
-Transport 1500QR/month

Anytime you change of grade F/O->SFO->CPT you go back to scale 1 for the respective grade(entry level).
In other words if you become Captain after 4 years or 10 years , i won't make any difference in your initial Basic captain salary, you go back to Scale 1 captain salary.
Hope its a little bit more clear..:hmm:

wilcoluca 28th Sep 2011 12:06

How many days in total are necessary to attend the Qatar selection?

JOHN555 28th Sep 2011 16:21

,,,,,,,

loc22550...Thanks for your reply :ok:

just one more thing ... Is the transition from FO to SFO Usually take 5 yars (fix) or it may be less ( A320)

highandfast 28th Sep 2011 17:17

I received an offer for an interview 2 weeks ago. I replied the day after the offer accepting the interview and again 9 days later. I have not received any response from QA since the offer. Is this the norm?

Also, are there any good study guides for the interview?

tcas II 28th Sep 2011 20:08

Transit from fo to sfo take 3yrs after final line check.
