BlueSkye

I see what you mean about taking more than just your identity. That "419eater" site makes interesting reading!

Also see Wikipedia "Advance fee fraud." I can not stress this enough. Be careful.

I've had several Lagos trips within the last 6 months and have noticed the 'requirement' to place your e-mail details when you sign in at check-in. I warn the crew now to avoid entering these details as it wouldn't surprise me that the hotel staff get a back hander for each e-mail they obtain.

Not that i'm saying Nigeria is notorious for this sort of thing...........

Scams

On the same thread there is a West African scam going round about a ''relative'' from the Concorde crash in Paris, saying that $25m is waiting for me to collect from this deceased person. Please could I get in touch!!! They even show an old BBC news link!!

So this is the new way these sick fraudsters are trying to make people interested. The problem is so many people believe them and end up loosing their possessions when they follow up these emails.

These fraudsters should be put up against a wall and shot!!!

Hi,

I just completed the communication with this guy. To win my trust, this guy even sent some evidence to verify this issue, like passport of this guy, death certificate, and lawyer certificate of him. I do believe they are so professional to work out this scam.
Fortunately, I found this forum before I set up trust on him. I forwarded this forum to this guy, waiting for his response. He will suddenly disappear for sure, but we'd better to spread this story to all friends, never believe " Luck happen to you suddenly"

I have lost count of the number of relatives that I have lost in air crashes, car crashes, works accidents and military coups!
I am now worth millions because of all my wins in the Australian, UK and European lotteries - that's strange! I thought I needed to buy a ticket to have a chance of winning.
Why do intelligent people fall for these scams? There was a famous case in Scotland a few years ago where a woman fell for the same thing three times. She was asked to send £30,000 and would receive a block of tar with US$250,000 hidden inside; she did and when the block arrived, she carefully chipped it apart and guess what was inside? Tar! She complained and was to to send another payment for more money and she did - again, nothing inside. After she sent the third payment, she decided that something was amiss.
I am familiar with the saying 'Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice- shame on me,' What's 'Fool me three times'?
