Sky Airlines-Turkey ??

Would anyone care to comment on Sky Airlines, located in Turkey. Did a forum search but found nothing. They're advertising for 737 crews.

The online crewmember application on their website was unusual in that it asked for no details of flying experience. Just an initial screening form perhaps ?

Thanks.

If you wanna fly 150 hours in 30 days,go for it!!
I don't think even they read that applications via internet,so better to give them a call or fax.
By the way where was the advirtisment?

bafanguy 19th Nov 2005 18:45

Sounds like you have some firsthand experience with this airline ?

If u want the job go there and talk there yourself as soon as you can.
They just take wath they can get. Called me last year, i packed my bag and 10 days later i was on their doorstep but i was to late they changed their mind and made a deal with some flight school.
Dont have any idea waths their situation at the moment.
Good luck

housewife,

Could you provide a bit more info on what T & C they were offering ? The job post and website contain no info. Thanks.

BlueVolta 22nd Nov 2005 15:37

T & C.... that's negotiable according to your experience and hability to negociate...

Last summer the FO's were mostly from Eaglejet, but according to guys from SKY it wasn't good as expected.

Emails, fax, letters get lost, the best solution is take a plane to Antalya some of your CVs and pay a visit. They will offer you tea or coffee, chat with you never say no, may be say yes.

Good luck

bluevolta,

Thanks for the info.

I'm assuming you have to be a Turkish national with local or JAA licenses? Same question would apply to Onur, MNG and the rest. Or would they sponsor some sort of work visa if you're experienced on type or willing to pay for the type?

bafanguy 23rd Nov 2005 13:08

Golconda,

Don't know for sure, but the job posting asked for "ICAO + 737 endorsement. Apply online please."

BlueVolta 23rd Nov 2005 16:46

In Turkey, a lot of non Turkish pilots are flying, all are coming with type rating endorsed on their license. JAA license are prefered (even probably a must for FO) FAA accepted for captains as there is a shortage.
The turkish company you work for will sponsor and take care about the work permit...

Golconda 27th Nov 2005 10:07

Thanks for the info, bafan and BlueVolta. Unfortunately I have FAA licences and looking to get an FO position, so guess I don't match up there. Might try my luck again once I get a type rating.

Is the 737 or A320 more marketable TR to have in Turkey?
