Devil EK vs. QR -----> Let the war begin!

Untill now there has been some sort of a gentleman's agreement that EK and QR will not hire any of eachothers pilots, or even grant them an interview.

Latest news is that QR just has hired an EK pilot on the 330 so......bye bye gentlemans agreement!!!!

This could mean that we might see some pilots going in the other direction as well....a lot of people are waiting for that!

Can somebody confirm this?

QR is facing a huge crew shortage after the massive order they just placed. Untill now they have been incredibly lucky that everytime they need pilots some major airline went bankrupt!

The chiefpilots are bragging that they have piles of resumes on their desks of people willing to join QR; Well well!

Here are the facts:

- 56 crews needed on the 330 within the next 5 months
- Next months rosters are impossible to make because of shortage
Average flying time: 75hrs copilots/ 82 hrs captains!
Hollidays are being cancelled
Rosters revised every day
People are being called in off days
etc etc

Thois shows that again QR is facing difficulties!!!! Wake up dear managers......if you want pilots act now!

Because it just might be too late allready

Dragonnair........recruiting
Emirates............Recruiting
Cathay Pacific.....Recruiting soon
SIA......................Recruiting
Korean................Recruiting
Vietnam airlines...Recruiting
Riyal Brunei............Recruiting
GF............................Recruiting

Start ups: Air Arabia/ AUH Carrier/etc

Europe: opening up with several start ups, EZ needs massive amounts of airbusdrivers, Ryanair hiring, etc tec etc

QR managment.....the dream will be over soon.....wake up!

QR Crew

Can someone enlighten what is the current situation with cabin crew numbers? Are they experiencing shortages similar as flight crew or is the situation more or less ok???

Hi Qatary 515,

You said that a 330 driver from EK has joined Qatar, what would be the reason????

I see lots of wishfull thinking on your post, but maybe a little exagerated. Unfortunately, there's no such huge recruitment in effect. We all hope it happen in the near future.

Okay I see....

So that is why I have been contacted by several of these companies in the last few weeks for either interviews or resume updates....

And that is why two pilots just resigned to join Air Arabia...

If I just had known how good wishfull thinking could be and what results it had.....I would have started doing it MUCH sooner

That EK guy who joined QR.....maybe he had family in Doha....?!?!
