Travel to Jordan in March

Do any of you have knowledge as to why we (two Americans) should not do a quick tour of Amman and Petra?

Hmmm......perhaps you should consult your country's travel warning situation, department of foreign affairs for every country generally has extensive info and most up to date reports on political situations etc.
However, I guess with the current situation one would have to wonder if there is any reason for 2 Iraqi nationals not to do a quick tour of Yanky Stadium........
Responsible travel is really a question of commonsense isn't it???

Well, my gov't travel office says don't go to Israel (and I go often), and refused to recognize Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel, so I don't put much faith in it. I will check the British travel office though.

Because I thought there might be someone in this forum posting from Jordan who could give me some further insight.

Next month you'd be somewhat close to a major war zone; be mindful about wind direction, considering bio or chem exposure. Iraqi missiles would traverse Jordan's airspace to reach Israel.
