A reply from Emirates

How long can it take for a yes, you're in the holding pool, or a no you're not to come back after you have applied?

I had to wait 3 months to receive a response informing me I was in the holding pool, then, another 24 months to be invited to the interviews.

Best of lucks

It varies incredibly ! Glonass I think was at the long end of the spectrum, for me I applied early December 2001. Told I was in the pool a couple of weeks later and invited for an interview early August this year.

Good luck folks....

Took about three weeks for them to tell me "thanks for the app but 3600 high performance hours are not what we are looking for" Oh well, it was worth a shot

Holding Pool

What do you guys mean by the "holding pool"?
Is this a separate step in the application process?

Emirates told me that they had my application on file,
just wondering if that is the holding pool you are talking about.

Cheers

If you have hours on high performance airliners it should have held you in good stead! Especially if 777 or 330 as this will practically guarrantee you an interview. Command time on airlines a help too.

Anything other than the above, even if high performance(fighters &biz jets), not much help.

Dear all,

I've been thru the final interview and now waiting for result from EK whether they accept me or not. Been waiting almost 2 months for the reply but yet they still advise me to wait.
In my group, people who is reject has been rejected and the people who got accepted will be fly over by next week.
What does this mean?

Does this show a good sign or I'm not been accepted?

Hi

I filled in the EK online application 4 weeks ago and got a message saying that i would receive an application number within 7 days, however, i'm still waiting. My question is, how do you recieve the number and, should i assume they haven't recieved the application or wait as things may be slow over the xmas and new year period.

Thanks.

"Patience Grasshopper"

In my case it seemed to be seven working days. Actually it toke like nine.
They will send it to the E mail address you have provided or used to send your application.
I don't know how X mas would affect working days there.
Good luck!
What are your times?

Yes Captain, They Did

I, of course keep my options open and update every so often. It is too hypothetical to speculate if I would have taken the job anyway.
Unfortunately, as I understand, it is much harder to get into EK with my kind of RJ and light jet experience.
