Class 1 medical with OML

Helo aviators,
i have a question
i have been diagnosed with alcohol problems which am not, without any proper check ups and tests and suspended my class 1,, but thats what happened.
anyway now they said they will issue me a class 1 with OML, and the OML will stay for 1 year.
if i apply to another airline with the OML in my medical would i be hired ?

Simple and honest answer: No.
most of the airlines have as a requirement a medical class one with no OML , unless is sight correction.
So, if it is not written anything else it could be a problem. Before sending an application to your “final” airline I would wait one year in order to have it washed out of my papers

It depends on whether the airline in question has its own medical department or not.

An OML per se is not a big deal for airline ops; You just need to be rostered with unrestricted medicals which is usually the vast majority in the airline so no biggies from rostering side.
Another story is whether the airline has its own medical dept. as it’s likely they’ll end up digging in on why you got this restriction and that could disqualify you.

May I ask how the medical got suspended without any proper checks or tests? How were you diagnosed to have an alcohol problem if no proper tests or checks were done.

it does not make sense, I’m not saying you are lying but if this injustice has been thrust upon you surely you should be fighting this OML on the licence/medical and not just accept it.as it will have dire consequences on your career.

Tim, it's called "loss of face syndrom". Once a decision is made, even if proved wrong, you can have a mighty battle getting the decision overturned if the Quack is a local or there is some other form of conspiracy.

Good advice already given to the opener. Take it on the chin, get it wiped after a year (if they really mean that) and move on with a clean licence.
