what type do you need to apply at EK

so this is more wishfull thinking than anything else, but i thought it was worth asking
(ignoring the accademy) does EK only hires from pilots with a boing/airbus type (and x amount of hours)? or you can also apply with an E 190 type for example, does the a220 count? i'm mainly refering to those few jets that are slightly smaller than your usual 737/a320 but still larger than most bizz jets

You need to be modern Boeing or Airbus rated. I believe the a220 is not accepted. On the website they state that acceptable Airbus experience for FOs and Accelerated command is A320/A330/A340/A350/A380 only. For Direct Entry Captain they only accept wide body FBW modern Airbus experience.

The reason is that they only conduct Prior Experience TR courses. That may or may not change in the future (as they explained during the roadshow).

It is accepted. Just not for Direct Entry command on the A380.
