Any idea why they don't include hours on A330? Same rating as A350 (EASA) and basically the same aircraft as A340.

I'm sure 330 time would count....a rating one allows you to fly the other with a CCQ differences course.

Why are the standards of those joining so so poor these days. Absolutely Shocking how far ek pilot standard has fallen.

because EK managers are too arrogant to apologize and take those redundants back without having stupid regulations.
you can’t find 380 commanders out there, because most companies are bringing them back, so no need for a change. EK had all those 380 commanders but not taking them back. EK reputation is not good enough anymore to attract some 330/340 pilots with descent jobs where the live at home.
Only those from doggy contractor jobs are applying.
Most pilots on 350 work in solid companies so why should they go to the desert?

the real good ones have been let go, others never had the luck of getting proper high quality training and education are now lining up to get out of crab LCC jobs, with minimum and no experience. FO with long EK experience have also let got and not returning, mostly because they didn’t get an invitation, rather being replaced by new ones.
This is like building up the fleet of airbus completely new, with new pilots. Overall experience has for sure drop significantly on that fleet.
What do expect?
long time ago 7000 total and between 2500 and 4000 jet had been required for FO.
Today 1500 is enough to land that gig.

There is a large difference in experience- not they can’t learn it but it needs time. 15hr flying straight isn’t exactly learning something and building experience.

DECs usually end up back in the right seat in EK at some point. They are always treated as lessers by the company and their peers, I call them captains with a little c- high staff numbers and often temporarily to fill a problem within the company and upsetting all the FOs along the way.

they often aren't good enough to be EK skippers , been many poor ones over the years, Brian actually said this recently stating they 'had had the issues' Whens that tit leaving ?

It will take years to build up the experience levels on the 380 back up to where they were in 2019 before it was all thrown away. Typical rosters inlcude 2 ULR trips and 2 or 3 to Europe or Asia, so 3 or 4 landings a month - in the last 2 months I've had 6 landings (and no leave or sims in that time, just line flying). If you are coming from a 320 operator with a couple of thousand hours it will take a long time to be "experienced" on the 380 at that rate.

this well my opinion too.
apparently is it not the general EK opinion as they let go all that experience and now taking DEC. on the other hand complaining about having issues with narrow body DEC sounds awkward as they won’t admit having made a mistake.
so taking DEC and complaining is better than loosing the face, and correct the failure. Funny they try to teach aviators to learn from their mistake - what’s about the management are they learning from mistakes?

as an affected employee from the first round I’ve seen nothing mentioning a complete base closure. Not sure where you’ve got that from

some of came with some sort of ethics but very quickly realize it’s better for your own not to have some, and start changing and getting into the flow.
some will remember Ch. Mueller. Or even brain came and wanted to change for better. There we are in todays reality.

There will be people who remember when TCAS tried selling the old crates that the onboard wine came in to pilots. It’s a certain breed of humanity that inhabits the third floor.
