On standby for Emirates interview

Do Emirates often place candidates for interview on a standby basis? I have been informed that I am on a standby list for an interview in the next few weeks, however I have yet to receive any information from them with regards to instructions etc. If I am not contacted, how promptly do they confirm the firm interview date. It is approximately a year since I submitted my application on line.

One other question - how easy would it be for my wife to gain employment, in order to supplement the salary or would that be out of the question? We have no kids, therefore the wife would like to be constructively occupied if at all possible.

Thumbs up

This is quite normal fore EK to do this, as a lot of times interviewees will say they will come and cancel at the last moment. So you will have to be patient, and be prepared to be contacted on short notice. (usually 24 hours)

No problem for the wife to get a job. Plenty going if she is willing to work.

It is pretty normal for EK to have a standby list of candidates. It often works to your advantage!

Offensive wording deemed as a wind-up and way off the topic removed. Keep to reporting Palma; your knee-jerk vitriol in a quest for political correctness spoils your otherwise obvious interest. 4HP
