Irish licence re-issue?

Hey everyone. This is my current situation.

I was previous flying the B737-800 out of Europe on an Irish licence. I since moved to the UAE in 2015 on the B777 and my Irish licence states that it should be reissued no later than 2018.

I assume it’s expired so does anybody have any idea how to get it reissued and also with a B777 rating on it or able to point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

I was in a Similar Situation, if you contact the IAA they will outline a process to Issue you an EASA License and convert your type rating etc..

A paperwork exercise, but quite straight forward.

Drop them an email, they are usually pretty good at responding quickly with a helpful reply. The Irish also allow you to put a 'restricted' type rating on your IAA issued licence, which for all intents and purposes is useless (Mine is A6 reg only!) but it allows a reset of the 7 year countdown for keeping your IR privileges valid and is much cheaper than paying for an LPC in a sim, since it is just a paperwork exercise. If you are planning to actually use the type rating, or need it for applying elsewhere, then a trip to the sim is probably going to be required. Good luck!

Paperwork with IAA. If you want to have an "active" EASA rating you need a check with an EASA TRE (2 hrs refresh + 2 hrs check).
Nothing stressful.
👍🏻

Btw, anyone knows a shortcut/way to contact IAA lately? They're taking weeks to answer any email (if they do) and even calling its simply impossible to get in touch with the licensing dept.

Any help is appreciated!

I guess they are very busy with SOLI procedures requests from the bigger Island.

If you have a current ICAO rating, there should be no training requirement for a renewal - only an (ATO's) Course Completion Certificate, stating no training required.

If you are current on type, the LST for addition of an unrestricted rating, or Prof Check for renewal should be considerably less stressful than your average 6-monthly session. The details of the required items are in “Easy Access” part FCL. If you are to complete the check in 2 hours, then there should be no surprises in the content.

There are several alternatives for the B777 EASA check in Dubai. PM for details.

Good luck.
