Pattaya is a couple of hours away from Suvarnabumhi by taxi and a new rail network is being developed linking BKK, DMK, Pattaya and Bangkok city. UTP airport isn't that close to Pattaya and lacks the comforts of its larger brother to the north. It's alright for regional and domestic or charter flights but offers no real advantage compared to BKK for long haul.
