Why is Saudi king using 747SP?

Thought lower type royals used it, what hapened to the 743 and 744?

Ok so they may not be now, but in 2017 he rode one to Moscow on a first state visit by a king.

Could it be he's trying to be more one with the common man, relate more to his subjects, etc. Maybe he's tired of getting a bum rap with the media. What's one to do with a pesky journalist in a bastion of free speech like the kingdom...

Or could it be that the other two aircraft were in maintenance? Both -SP's are now out of service.
