What happened to the veritable flood of (unmentionable airline) and SAA pilots who were ready to drop everything and rush to Dubai? It has all gone a bit quiet.

I heard two things. The SAA guys went to QR due to better T and Cs and I also heard that they weren't interested in coming to EK.

Not entirely true Joker. About 40 SAA guys were interested, of which more than 20 have already started. Another 6 to start on 1 November.

Probably not a surprise to some on here, but I pulled the pin last month, the family leaves in 2 weeks, a newer less fatigued and enjoyable life awaits.

Time for Emirates to buy Thomas Cook at 56p a share, collapse the company into administration a month later.....then split the pilots between China with Fosun or Dubai and Emirates?

Standard 9 days off for November, 90+hours, lots of night turns, nothing that I bid for. Seems like nothing has changed except the date.

You all should thank your stars for being in an airline, good or bad. I know of hundreds of rated pilots sitting home doing nothing due to the shutdown of a regional airline.
