With their recently raised pay scales etc, year 2 F/O would easily make £4.5k/month after tax and all other contributions. They are pretty much the best job in the UK by quite some distance - in my humble opinion at least.

Craggenmore, sorry for insinuating that you were there for the money and I am happy that you can practice your hobby 24/7/365 but that would not be enough for me to justify my kids breathing the dust that is currently going through DXB.
You’re wrong when it comes to salary the £4500 quoted is net... lack of command? I have done it and yes it’s nice but it’s not everything in life.
As i said in my previous post, it suits some to be in the Middle East some it doesn’t, I enjoyed my time there but it was time to come home...
All the best.

Come on craggen.... like you I will also get my profit share and housing allowance in one hit. It doesn't make me sleep better at night because I am a realist. Where do you live, deira studio?
I fly to the yearly limits, that's a fact and everybody here does.
Won't get into the rest, you have been here long enough to know it any way. Maybe you are just the ideal EK pilot, built for this kind of life. If so, I am truly happy for you.

But only two years ago our mate sealear thought those 777s were so big and shiny.

Lekke - I'm glad someone got it!
Cloud Bunny - Why that name? Anyhow, good to hear that VS is up and coming.
Dusty - The HA is paying off a mortgage that will trounce the Provident Fund when I leave. I wasn't looking for it but was offered it (and after it was withdrawn!) so I took it and fingers crossed, the plan will come to fruition. It's odd that long termers don't take it. I hear the term 'quick exit', but there is no quick exit here. Max limits? Averaging 78 a month, LHS 380. What's your monthly average? Which fleet?
springbok449 - No issues and thanks for your grace. Glad things are going well back home and again thanks for the NET pay update. If what you say is true then my old Pals are fibbing to me, most probably in order to avoid getting a round in. There can be no other explanation..!! What fleet are you on? Shoot me a PM and if you cross paths with said gang you can have a good laugh at my expense. All the best to you :-)

Hello there,
I would greatly appreciate if somebody could share some jet2 FO schedules via PM.
Also, as an NTR FO applicant, do I need to pay for the TR or is it bonded, and how?
Thank you!

FO's are a bit busier than line Captains. Type Rating is 3-year bond, not self-funded.

£5k net per month average (less in the winter, more in the summer)
Just a tiny paycut.
But in return you get repetitive destinations, an exotic base in the north of the uk, and the charming experience of the Alicante passengers in July.
(just kidding guys!)

Something to remember here is that EK is not the only show in town, possibly when Jet2 and Ryanair come to Dubai they might just be hoping to target the 700 or so current and type rated pilots based on the other side of the runway.
As a pilot at that other airline, by the time I take into account the far higher cost of living in Dubai, I would probably not be much worse off working for Jet2 than I am here, and long term it would probably be a better environment for my kids to grow up in. And given the choice of LBA to ALC checking in at 1400 LT or DXB to HYD checking in at 2200LT I know which I would rather choose. Or even IBZ or PRG on a Friday night
