ATPL Requirements for hiring.

Hello all,

I am soon to go through the whole FAA ATPL Certification process (That is ATP-CTP, Knowledge and Practical Test). I hold a FAA CAMEL with no type rating and also a ICAO CAMEL from another country with a A320 Type Rating and currently flying the 320 1500+ TT on type.

Concern is: In order to be eligible for companies in Middle East and Asia, do they require you to have the type rating in the same ATPL license? Or is it acceptable to have a FAA ATPL with no type rating and the A320 Type Rating in a different ICAO ATPL from some country? Provided I meet the flying experience requirement on type.

I am trying to decide here if going for a normal FAA Practical Test (Oral + checkride in light twin) or going for a Practical Test in the simulator concurrently with the A320 Type Rating (which implies a significant difference in $$$$)

Hope you guys can guide me a little here

Regards,

For EK you need the type rating on the ATPL. Not sure about the others.

Make the investment, you'll get it back on your first few salaries if you get hired. Invest in your career now, there are plenty of possibilities around. Good luck!
