Lasik eye corrective surgery

Hi Gents,

I am a current UAE class 1 medical certificate holder and was looking into getting the lasik procedure done, to correct my myopia and astigmatism

Looking to find out what the procedure is with the GCAA?

Many thanks,

I asked at GCAA last year , they said grounded for 4-6 weeks then medical check and report from the surgeon that did the procedure. Would suggest you go ask or give them a call to confirm nothing has changed.

Just be reminded that some countries will not accept it at all, like Japan.

Just keep in mind that there is a risk, albeit small, that the op may not go as planned. If you need your Class I medical to pay the bills, then think twice.

Also, as its elective surgery, there may be issues with your loss of licence cover if it goes wrong.

However, you pays your money and takes your choice!
