Was gonna attend the next fleet forum next Monday, but it has now been delayed.
Apparently there has been "Some very recent positive developments" and they want to put it together as a package!!
Whatever that maybe, it better be good

This "package" presentation indeed better be good.
It will be a real insight into how in touch they are with the anger.
Any Mickey Mouse BS will cause more enmity.
Let's see if they walk the walk.

one of the "positive developments" is that they are going to raise the overtime limit to 95 hours.
This will be done for our benefit. This will ensure that you actually fly less "overtime" hours.
Excellent.

It's already part of the package that the Co has failed to give us!
Forgive me for being skeptical - but that letter's tone almost had a victory lap element to it.
"I am delighted to ...."
To what???! Give us our contractual leave!
Stop ...it's effing ridiculous

I don't really understand wtf he is trying to do. Fair enough, recognition that the leave process is a shambles.
Therefore, they need to do something about it!!! I have no peak leave this year, just some random leave in non school holiday months.
2 or 3 ALTs please as well.
Rostering next please.... Make the system work for the pilots, not such a shambolic restrictive system. Oh, and while we are about it, lets have the rosters before the GR2's, who seem to have theirs as of this morning

They are copying the Taiwanese/Chinese SOPs exactly .... take away contractrual obligations and then give some of it back, thus making everybody feel as if they've actually got something.
For example, a favorite trick was to announce that there would be a small profit share/bonus and a possible pay cut. When the time arrived, no bonus was paid but the pay wasn't cut either. Relief all round.

Pay us the productivity pay stolen over the past years, and return it to the 78hrs it should be. They are the ones that originally chose that number.

I never was very good at mathematics, so please explain to a simpleton how recruiting 50 pilots a month, with a current attrition rate at 40 and with 3 new aircraft delivered per month is going to relieve the chronic shortage of flight crew?

The second letter from HD, as far as I remember and yes they are getting 50 a month, but are losing 10 a month as of right now, it will start to pick up soon and most likely get worse with a letter like this.
Sad, but they just don't know what to do.

You all seem very upset about this letter and announcement of something positive. Fair enough we should all be sceptical about it but would you have really preferred for nothing from management talking about changes?
It's right to consider what will be offered as something that we should already be getting, however, personally I'm glad I received those emails on top of the usual terrible roster for next month.

It is our contract, we earned that leave fair and square, however the letter is saying that we should be happy that they might look into it...or might not...when we have enough pilots...but not in summer...

Tiotes Massive Head,
There you go, they have beaten you so much that the slightest bit of good news (and this is debatable because we should be getting it already) makes you happy.
Your training has finished.

Spring, sorry to disappoint you but I have never had a year when I have not taken all my leave. I have been here heading towards the double decade and never not been able to use all my leave every year. To me, those that tend to have leave left in the bank are those that still hold hope of using the spare days you have at a time that is already fully allocated. I look to use up my additional days when there are periods that allow the leave to be used, I do this because it is my leave and my health and I do not want it auto allocated or left in the bank. I brought up several children here and must say that the most leave I ever carried over was 7 days.
