The bigger question is who will replace him, and will it change anything!

Missing him already!!!

Chaps...

Harry isn't the only one who will miss TCAS!

I too am holding back the tears. I have been waiting with baited breath for this year's offerings...

Was it to be kitchen furniture made from old toilet bins? or sofa's made from the old blankets and Emirates logo duvets... Or outdoor furniture made from A330/340 catering canisters!

I need something to complete the luxury pad in Mayday heights now I have those lovely wine crate desks!

It might also be reasonable to suggest that IF anyone had any respect for the man and IF he had a history of being reasonable, pragmatic, trusting etc that there would be no argument about 'rules'.

It is quite simple: you can make decrees from on high or you can treat you pilots with a modicum of respect and simply point out that walking around with rucksacks does not suit the EK or pilot image. 99% of us agree and would happily comply and, in fact, do comply. Then deal with the individuals.

Instead we deal, day in and day out, with ludicrously written edicts.

Is it any wonder that people here now tune out.

(take a look at the number of spelling error alone in the last flt ops document that was handed out on nice shiny paper ---perhaps they should look inward first, clean up their own house and then move forward)

That's the nature of the micromanagement. Unfortunate micromanagement is part of the EK culture.

The sad thing about the appointment of ex-DSVP FO is that the Principal of the Flight Academy position is going to be seen from now on as a grace and favour position for Flight Ops has-beens rather than seen as a position that has some gravitas occupied by an industry training professional.

people tend to micro-manage when they are incompetent, therefore loathe to delegate..

Hmmm...

TCAS...harry the cod...BA...a failed Empire whose main contribution these days seems to be spewing its airline management dregs and failed Dickensian management style at EK...I'm starting to see a pattern...must...connect...dots...

Angel

Errrr....White Knight, you do realize your comments only serve to strengthen my thesis? Do you not also hail from the land of perpetual clouds and bad teeth, or are you a descendant of the cousins sent to the penal colony...I forget? Apple, tree, all that.

Either way I believe this is where a tv show lawyer would say something like "I rest my case"....
