EK Duty Travel

Hi All,

I wanted to enquire what peoples experience is of Emirates Duty travel policy.
For the position I have been contacted about I was advised duty travel is economy with space available upgrade to business.
Was a little disappointed to hear that, as the role with Emirates is a step up in terms of position from my current role, yet the airline I am with duty travel policy is business to first (space available).

I'd be expected to attend trade shows, conferences and spend time at outstations for project work, so Im expecting to do a fair amount of travel, as I do in my current role.

My understanding (correct me if I am wrong) from reading other posts on the forum, is that staff travel in general is rather problematic at Emirates and its not even possible to check the flight loading.

Am I going to be spending a lot of my time in economy

What grade will you be joining at?

The position is grade 9. I have yet to accept the position.

Yes, Grade 9 is Economy upgradeble to Biz on space available.
If I was to put a number to it as a wild a$$ed guess, you should get upgraded about 60-70% of the time
