EK. Maximum Number of days off.
Is there a new policy regarding maximum number of days off or have I just been oblivious all this time?
I'm trying to swap flights but I keep running into a new why-you-can't-swap error message when validating swap-rules: "Maximum number of days off per month is 15"
If every other rule for the swap is satisfied, who cares if I end up with one more day off or one less? The productivity for the company remains the same between the two pilots!

Why does Emirates do half the crap they do? One will never know.
Most of the items are zero cost to the company but yet these arseholes do little titly things I guess just to piss us off. A little kindness goes a long way especially to the guys with the throttles in their hands.

It appears that a whole bunch of new rules have been thrown at the CRS and swap filters. I have spent countless of hours on eswap trying to trade trips. Each and every swap I attempt would achieve 100% productivity to the company at no cost to them. However, because of petty little rules, I can't swap anything. How can a pilot body of over 3500 pilots accept this ongoing erosion of basic items?

The new rules were introduced when the automated swap system went live. As JA said in a wash-up I was at "be careful for what you wish for" meaning the swap site would be up and running but the rules built in would reduce your ability to swap what we could in the past.
Apparently these rules were introduced to reduce fatigue but the company can roster you without applying them when it suits them.
Later when I asked about getting the list of Rules published I was told "I could find them out on my own as swaps were rejected" .
Thanks you EK, very helpful indeed.
I find them mostly crazy and very very annoying. I can organise my own roster and my own rest without the "help" of these morons in the office who would not know anything about my job.
Do any of them in there hold any kind of degree or have any relevant experience in ULR operations in a modern environment? I seriously doubt it especially the decision maker………………..sorry decision makers.
By the way I'm always tired. 92 hrs a month have anything to do with it??

@ Transport Jock
Never said it was a bad roster! Just that, I got 17 days off as a published roster and tried to do a swap with a colleague who needed to get home. Swap was either illegal because I would be in productivity or because of max days off.

These rules have been in place for several years. No more than 15 off and you can not swap into overtime
I thought the rules were changed last year I think it was to allow credit for actual hours flown after the swap (instead of original roster) and therefore a maximum swap of 5 hours into overtime.
