World Cup Robots

Had to laugh as I watched the presentation awards. 10 smiling dollies with bright lipstick and red hats, all the time looking at some defined point into the distance. No eye contact, not even a clap when the trophy was lifted.

I'm all for a good bit of PR but does the promotional team not see how fake and staged it all looks. Put a bit of life into them, they're people, not bloody robots!

The entire room I was in said the same thing. Overseas, all non-EK and they ALL noticed. To be fair any models they use would do the same thing.

Absolutely agree, also noticed the robots, but you can't fault them, they are a product of the sausage factory (training college)

Keep up. They were watching themselves and the whole scene on the big screen! Must be the world's best ever selfie.

Even Blatter was doing it and I think it was the only reason he managed to lose control of the trophy this time but it was only at the last milli-second.

And to think that what EK must have paid for that would have given us a decent cost of living pay rise.

What irony:

10 window dummies dressed up in EK uniform hand over medals to the Germans who deny that company more access to their country!

Money well spent, congrats.

Probably not much more than around 10M USD. Divide by 40.000 that makes 250 USD for each of you. Wow, if that's your idea of decent, small wonder EK can get away with what they - allegedly - do.

I would guess they paid more than $10 mil for all that publicity
Anyway I still would rather have the extra $250 in my pocket.
Rather than being blown away on corporate freebies etc that sure as eggs are eggs were included.

EK allegedly paid up to 50m USD for being a primary sponsor.

Harry couldn't agree with you more, ultimately Business Promotions will have probably given them an ultimatum that if they so much have a hair out of place it'll be a warning. Like you said - humans not robots.

They could have applauded!

Why didn't they clap?

I never saw the soccer, but the same went for the Scottish Golf Open. Behind one of the tees were two French Fries ( potato coloured outfit with ketchup on top ) in overcast conditions each trying to hold up big EK brollies in a 15 gusting 30 knot wind, trying to get maximum exposure! If I was a pro and they put me off my drive, I'd be less than impressed…..
