With Dubai still in a world of debt and the crazy spending picking up pace again in preparation for the expo, where do you think they would rather have the money. In their bank account or yours. This will not change until it really really has to. If the attrition rate stays about the same and the courses are being filled, expect the same next year.

Unbelievable that it took so long to tell us we were going to get a real terms pay cut. How hard could it be. So a new joiners salary has gone up by 5 Aed/ hour. So that will run to about 3500 AED/ Year.
That should be really enticing in the face of rampant inflation. I just cannot see anything improving ever again!

At least they didn't confuse us about giving us bugger all like they did last year, they just need a month to get round to it. Pathetic! Disgusting greed and lack of vision.

Genuinely pleased with the housing increase as I did not expect that.
But it must be stressed that our pay and benefits are going down each year. No getting away from that fact.

Dear AS and All,
I would like to add my own personal thanks for your continued hard work and support. I shall continue to give you an equivalent level of hard work and support.
Best Regards

Alconguin. I truly would love you to say I'm a 'limp dick' to my face.... I've never worked out why you think I have anything to do with management! Just because I enjoy my flying and I have a good life in Dubai does not mean that I have anything to do with the office wallahs. If you can't see that then I truly feel sorry for you because you're obviously a very bitter individual with big chips on each shoulder....
Back to the 0%. Utter bulls**t 👎👎👎👎

All you lot bitching about only an increment, why not shut ya traps for a minute's silence for the large number of loyal, equally hard-working, old school fellas who got **** ALL again because they had the audacity to stay around and make a career of it longer than what is it, 16 years?? Rewards for loyalty hey?
Watching them get the shaft is not a lot of fun and not only because if I happen to stay that long I will be in the same boat and listening to the new gen complaining about 3%. Still we knew when we joined, etc etc...
And now back to the bitching about these tight-fisted a-holes.

Its ok boys just opened my free bag:
Is it normal for the ink to rub off?
Completely predictable, believable and a sign of things to come. A couple of bones thrown out, not going to be good in the future.

The total package has now become totally pathetic. What attracted pilots here in the first place:
Quick upgrade to a wide body jet.............gone
Excellent rostering.................................gone
Excellent pay for what we do...................gone
A villa one could possibly be happy in.......gone
Full leave awarded of 42 days..................gone
Pay increases to offset inflation................gone
Pay for duties other than flying................gone
Fair down route expense allowances.........gone
A reasonable bidding system...................gone
Need I go on? Upside, pay does come without delay (as should be expected) and really snazzy new flight kits to compliment our snazzy new uniforms.
If anyone has an option(s) other than here, please inform all why one would stay? Our standard of living is being compromised, our family life is being compromised, and our health is being compromised.
Just some observations from the bunker.

An excerpt from Tim Clarks Christmas letter
Don’t be fazed by inflationary pressures and doomsday predictions. I firmly believe that everyone associated with Emirates, and foremost the airline’s 42,000-plus family, will be well looked after.

Before you guys get your knickers in a knot, its a crap deal here but I would rather be here eating biscuits and cheese than being in Oz, dined on caviar and lobster then facing the chop (or a slap in the face called demotion) at QF. Always understand that there are always others worse off than we are. Bitching on Pprune may help vent but doesn't change anything.

But we are not in Aus are we?
We are in Dubai with low wages and runaway inflation. The pay needed to go up to compete w other Widebody airlines and it didn't even come close to keeping up with inflation.
This is insulting but we deserve everything we get with the attitude we carry.
