EK to convert A-330's to freighters?

Emirates plans to convert "worthless" 330's into freighters because they can't sell them? Anyone else like to chime in?

Yes, the one that sells 1286 airframes and is in worldwide service with 88 operators...

Apparently the deal has been signed. That's what my mate on the 330 told me.

The 330 freighter requires an extended nose gear housed in a blister fairing to counter the nose-down deck angle on the ground. I can't see it being economical to modify these rather 'well-used' airframes?

QR already had plans for this 2 years ago. They were pushing Airbus hard on it. Airbus has already agreed to it and a company in Singapore is ready to do the p2f conversion

A330P2F passenger-to-freighter conversion | Airbus, a leading aircraft manufacturer

As the 787 and a350 come online in large numbers the a 330 will become obsolete, with the huge numbers in service this is the best way for both operators and airbus to cash in.

Thanks Airmann, I stand corrected! I wonder if EK plan to keep them? I was kind of hoping to get off this fleet some time in the next 10 years...
