New 330/340 reserve allocation

Anyone think this new change to the "Reserve-period Allocation" is just a touch TOO Far?

I would personally much rather sit RSV versus a crap bottom bid month. The past few times I have had reserve was literally like getting paid to sit and do nothing at home. It was great! Maybe it was a fluke.... But im more than paying for it with the roster this month

I'll take waiting for the phone to ring occassionally over a month of miserable night turns any time.

But you are right. It is a bit much.

And what is this "movement" that she is talking about? Are they anticipating a big wave going to the 380?

I guess it's all normal on a fleet on its way out. Mrs TS will have to get used to more of my cooking.

Would be nice to know your days off , or garuntee a 5 day block post the 2nd or 3rd reserve in the year. Oh well.

Maybe you could spend your time teaching Mrs 170to5 to cook...

It is a bit much! Dying fleet? True that, but there are still 30ish 330/340s remaining.

Do they not have the pairings organised? We know they would have planned things and changed it by last week, but this extra reserve is
If they gave us some information on fleet transfers/plans.... just something it would make a difference. I know i know hope springs eternal

Extra Reserve

Folks, you need to express your dissatisfaction to a level above the so-called Fleet Admin. They are disorganised, and this is another knee-jerk reaction when they do not know what to do. This will limit the periods during which you are able to bid for leave.

Write to JA and express your disgust at the arbitrary way they just mess with your life; I have and await a response.

I would like the company to look again at this. I have written emails but have had no adequate response.
I cannot see any good reason why RSV could not be allocated after initial LVE bidding is complete.
Exactly why it's such a pain to get an answer.
EK standard ops....Just ignore it, it will go away and they don't have to explain anything.
Nucking Futs!!!

I believe all 330 Capt are needed on the 380. Come Jan time frame there will be a steady flow and more 777 to 380 (using the old expression of interest list) so if you did not put your name on the list before or turned it down you will have to wait.

and do it during your reserve time

Wish I hadn't looked at LASS, 105 days of reserve for 2014/15 . No leave, just a 30minute tether to the house for a third of the year.

Inital Round of Leave Bidding

No peak leave allocated during the initial round of EK leave bidding, but my remaining reserve periods for the 2014/2015 year have been confirmed.

3 x 35 day periods of reserve (total 105 days) out of 365.

Same for me. Only 163 days available to take all the leave. No peak and 3 reserve.

Ditto !!! 103 days of allocated reserve for 2014/5 and NO peak allocated at all. In fact, NOTHING allocated at all !!!

What with reserve days and peak not being available for bid on the second round, I have so little to bid for that I virtually consider that we (the 330/340 guys) are not being allowed the same vacation privileges as everyone else!!

This is another display of ineptitude from the fleet leaders. EK isn't the first airline to retire a fleet...do you seriously mean that they couldn't plan the allocation of pilots/vacation/rostering more efficiently?

One more nail in the coffin for me......
