Route thru Israel to Amman

Last week, we were given a route from Greece, direct to SALAM, as they assumed we were routing J19 to SOLIN....

But there is no airway from Israel FIR border to Amman. However RJ and I am certain other scheduled carriers route direct.

I have heard several aircraft (non RJ) routing direct to Tel Aviv from Amman.

Is there any protocol that might permit Corporate flights to save the 40 min extra flying that the Syrian situation causes.

Yes, it is possible to fly between Amman and Israel. There is an approval process and security requirements.

This route is "only" available for RJ

So the rest of us fly another 30-40 mins to avoid Syria.
