Cat c Firm verse Cat 99 Firm

Hello,

Can someone briefly explain the difference between Cat C Firm and Cat 99 Firm.
If I am trying to get a ticket for a Maid to Manila, which would be better to purchase. Is one a higher chance of getting on?
The flights are pretty full when she is travelling so Cat A may not be the best option.

Thanks

E.

Both are a booked seat, so there is little chance of being offloaded on either- the only way that would happen would be something like a weight restriction, unlikely to Manila.

The main difference between the two is who is entitled to them. Catc is for immediate family and is cheaper than Cat99, which is "Wider eligability".

I'm not sure which a Maid is entitled to, but if it's CatC that's cheaper and the same or better priority than Cat99

From my experience I think actually Cat 99 is cheaper than Cat C (in economy anyway). The difference being it is not changeable / refundable once booked.

The CAT C WE is definitely more expensive but is less restrictive than a Cat 99.

I always bring the mother-in-law out on Cat 99 as it's a bit cheaper and if she can't make the flight on the dates booked she misses out altogether... It's a win-win .

GC is correct- I was confusing Cat99 with CatC WE.

Cat99 is available in economy class only and is a special offer fare, it's confirmed and is changeable but there is a fee to cancel/refund them. For anyone wanting to travel in economy confirmed, it's the cheapest option. Only available to the same list of people as Cat C tickets.

Cat C is not weight restricted if confirmed only if waitlisted. The only way you would get offloaded is for unforeseen commercial reasons, ie flight cancellation or something like that...
