Elite Assessment for Emirates

Hello PPRuNers,

I made a purchase of elite assessment and for the benifit of anyone who might be interested in buying this, here's a small little review on the same.

It is based off some powerpoint presentation type thing and all it goes over is to tell you that you should brush your teeth well before you go for the interview

It might sound exagarrated but that went on for a good number of slides. The sim briefing which starts off by saying will be extremely comprehensive, leaves a lot to be desired.

The slide show continues on to say that if you can't fly an aeroplane with a joystick, then you shouldn't be a pilot. Glad to know my 8 year of nephew will be a better pilot than me and I shouldn't have been flying for the last decade.

All in all, there's not a lot that this prepares you for that the threads over here don't already have. I haven't gotten a call, but I wanted to prepare and have looked at latest pilots job prep kit as well, which surprisingly is a lot lot more comprehensive than this.

Apart for the minimilistic sim brief, they just go over some abstract reasoning examples which you will be able to find over google with minimum effort.

The ATPL and techincal questions, the courseware recommends that you should Ace the technical pilot. Seriously? After spending 395 pounds, all you can tell me is refer to ace?

Well, its not all too bad... has about 7-8 tech questions. If you think that's worth 395 pounds. Which eventually tells you to read up a 30USD interview book.

My over all rating to this is a big zero on a scale of one to ten. Save you money and just see what's out there on PPRuNe.

Skytest for ME carriers much better IMHO to prepare for CBTs. SIM program can be found all over the net, as well as interview gouges.

Hi, this is Dave from Elite Assessment. Normally we don't post in forums, but your review is completely contrary to the feedback I receive, so I thought I'd speak up.

I personally created the Emirates course. I created the slideshow, recorded the audio accompaniment, and created the Compass Test simulation software. Although I'm not a pilot myself I worked for several months very closely with people who have a detailed knowledge of the Emirates interview procedure.

If you didn't learn anything from our course, then congratulations - you're obviously extremely accomplished - not just as a pilot but also as an interview candidate. You would have no problems passing any airline interview, with or without our course. However not everyone is as gifted as yourself.

Some people need little reminders of the basics. Presentation is important and some people forget that. Other people need a bit of tuition in what the interviewers are looking for in terms of airmanship. And many people are extremely grateful for some insights into how to prepare for the face-to-face interview.

Our feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Here are just some of the emails I've received in the last couple of years. It seems these candidates got a lot of value from our course:

=============

Hi there,

Just want to say thanks very much for helping me secure a position with Emirates. I attend the selection in July, and got offered the job!

The on-line prep you provided was spot on. The compass tests were all as expected. I finished the tests well before anyone else. The sim detail was exactly the same as you told me. I was the only Airbus guy to get through the sim... I used to fly turboprops and it felt like a big ATR again!

Interviews were as briefed. They asked me what I did for preparation before the assessment process. I didn't tell them that I used your services, I hope others who have been through and used Elite Assessment didn’t mention you!

In my group of 15 only 3 got offered jobs. Thanks again. Will definitely recommend your service.

=============

Wow i am so sorry for the late reply, firstly your program is awesome, i have just finished my Emirates interview and your stuff seriously was awesome and really really put me on the front foot.

=============

Dear Dave,

I have completed my Emirates assessment and I’m glad to tell that I was successful.
In my group of 14 guys only 2 made it!

I was told that the pass rate was 20-30%.

I have to tell you that your program was great. It did really help me, and all your guide was almost spot on.

I did put in my hard work for 6 weeks, but I would say that your program gave me 50% and my effort was 50%.

Your program comes with my highest recommendation and I have already been passing the word about your program to all my friends who would like to go for the Emirates interview.

Who ever who made this program I would say well done and good job!...

I’m glad that my career dream has come true.

Best regards

=============

Hello Dave,

Thanks a lot for the coarse, it is very informative, comprehensive and well structured. I am enjoying it thoroughly.

=============

Just a quick email to say thanks for all your help with the emails and your course was very helpful, I recently completed the Emirates testing and have been offered a job to start in November on the 777.

=============

Your presentation was excellent...It has been a very important (and fundamental) step in my preparation...

=============

BTW, great kit you are sending out...really helping me along...

=============

Thanks, I have found your Emirates course very informative and highly useful in my preparations for a trip to Dubai.

=============

Hello David

I just got done with the Emirates Assessment program and it went well. Your program was very helpful, and I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank You. Good Program!!!

=============

Thank you so much!! I do appreciate it :-)

And to give you a feedback, I think that it is a very good presentation and I share lot of your opinion on how to prepare yourself. If / when I go through the interview I will give you further feedback!

=============

Good morning Mr. Taylor,
I just wanted to tell you that I passed the Emirates Sim assessment in London and that I'm still waiting to be invited to Dubai to complete the selection process. The tips I got for the sim were really useful and I hope it will be the same for the remainder of the selection. I really needed your course and your help to join Emirates!

=============

I started reviewing material today. It definitely showed me some of my weaknesses.

=============

THANKS,
I really appreciate you and your experts taking the time to review my examples.
This is the best information I could ask for. Your comments are invaluable.

=============

I have already looked at it a few times. It is very professional and very useful!

=============

Hello Dave

I want to thank you for a very nice presentation.

=============

Hello there David, I have started looking at the program. I am so far very impressed with the work you have done.

=============

Hi again Dave

This is excellent.... I forgot about this and now I wish I got hold of this sooner!!!

=============

I would like to also add to this that the course you are offering is very comprehensive, and complete. Congratulations for the good job.

=============

Your course paid off I got the job with emirates we started a group of 17 in stage 1 then 4 of us went to stage 2 and 3 of us got hired

=============

Thanks again Dave, let me take a moment to congratulate you on the excellent material provided...

=============

Well, I am sorry to see that you're offended but you did not live up to the expectations because I had read such reviews earlier.

I am not neither extremely accomplished or gifted which is why I was all the more surprised.

It is just a personal opinion, for the price paid I was left disappointed.

I'll add my $0.02. I thought that Elite Assessment got me the job. Extremely relevant and thorough, it walked me through the process step by step. The tips for the sim were great and the breakdown of the interview, with associated techniques was excellent.

The practice questions weren't endless, but they were the most representative of all the feedback questions I had seen. I can't recommend it enough. Use it in conjunction with Skytest to get the grey matter accelerated, and you're on to a winner! Thanks Dave.

Hi to all,

I bought the elite assessment program and I found it an excellent way of preparing for the interview.

The information provided and the guidance it gives you for myself anyway was perfect. Would I recommend it most definitely I do believe it was a great insight on what to expect how to deal with things thru all stages of the assessment.

In conjunction with elite I also used latest pilot and sky test. In the end it's down to you how you want to prepare for an interview/assessment but for me using these tools along with hard work and preparation on my side got me the job here at EK.

PPPPPP THE 5 P's are important

I haven't gotten a call
It's a bit like buying a new car and passing judgement before you have driven it out of the showroom. If you still feel that Elite is a waste of cash after you have done the assessment then by all means speak up but not before.

Elite does what it is designed to do and I was happy with it but the important thing to stress, is that it should not be your exclusive source of information for helping you to prepare.
