EK utilities allowance. Any news?
Does the review for the utilities allowance occur at the same time as the education allowance?
Any additional information would be appreciated.

A colleague was told during his joining groundschool and recruitment that it is set to go to 180k/200k (fo/capt) this year. If it does then as previously mentioned it will more than likely be announced in July.
I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't change, there's plenty of pilots in the holding pool, they don't need to impress anyone or add pull factors to the company. Also, there's not many guys leaving and not great prospects elsewhere in the world.
As mentioned here: http://www.pprune.org/middle-east/51...-increase.html someone posts that at a washup they were told no increase.
You never know, we might get another 0.5% increase, happy days

They've increased the school allowance because fees are up (5-10%, according to KHDA).
They've increased the medical insurance charge - I'm sure costs have increased there.
Property prices and rents have increases around 25% over the last year, so it would be interesting to see how they would justify no increase there?
Disclaimer: They don't have to justify it to anyone, but you get my point...

Accommodation Allowance is not enough...
Hi all
Interesting to see this topic pop up again & again here, it's a topic very much on my mind these days. As greed grips the nation once again, rents are taking a massive hike. Some landlords respect the RERA rental increase cap whereas most blatently ignore it. Anyways, as rents climb so too do the associated agent fees etc. Hopefully somebody somewhere in head office addresses this sooner rather than later...
