Accom in Doha with Pool

Hi All,

Been years since I was in DOH but my bro is now living there - currently in hotel - and looking for a ccom with pool around QAR 12k per month. Any ideas?

Cheers

HR

All tower blocks on the Pearl have pools - but sometimes shared between two towers and not always big enough for serious lap swimming.
The new Qanat Quartier (aka Little Venice) area of the Pearl, now coming on the market, does not however have even one pool for the whole section. A big mistake IMO. Don't think there is a gym either? Opportunity missed - a big communal sports club (even if it charged membership) would have been a big asset / attraction.

I think that is why they have the pool...in case of fire you to dive into it...hopefully there will be no charge if you are forced to use this facility.

In my Pearl Viva Bariya Tower 29 they are taking fire precautions quite seriously. Fire rated doors from apartments to corridors, good signage, deafening fire alarms - incl a recorded multi-lingual 'EVACATE' message broadcast on a speaker inside your flat. No Smoking in communal areas. Doubt if they could do more? (I'd still rather be within reach of a ladder to the balcony than on the 20th floor though.)

A Civil Defence Fire Station is under construction on the Pearl - better late than never.

Qatar Civil Defence are taking a much closer interest in inspection of buildings' fire fighting and detection systems than previously - and not just in new builds.

Shame that all those kids had to die, in order for them to start paying attention to these things. Clearly nothing motivates an Al-Thani faster than bad publicity in the international press
