QR to another Middle Eastern Carrier

Hi all,

Just hoping some kind souls that have made the move from Qatar to other airlines in the region might be able to share their experience. Number one question... Is it worth it? Or just same sand? If it is, why?

One particular airline apparently has a minimum of 18 months with the company and 5000 hours for cmd. Is this realistic? Or just a carrot that never actually happens?

From what I can see, what hits the bank would be nearly the same. Is this right?

Finally housing... Does the extra cash equal a nice villa in a good area?

Sorry should've mentioned, looking as a wide body FO.
Thanks!!

The grass is a few shades greener on the other side.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi significantly better places to live than Doha.

Don't hesitate to make the move, you will be happier for it.

If your priority is the upgrade ASAP...don't think it worth to move...
Having said that several people have done the move before for various reason. On the other hand I don't think QR receive lots of applications from Etihad, Emirates or even Air Arabia....

not 10, I heard rumors of 2 or 3 pilots only a month from QR to the AUH airline...
Anyone knows if EK still has the agreement not to take QR pilots??

Nobody knowns ( except the ceo i guess)if There is any Kind of agreement between EK And Qr.As from our side, there is nothing written black and white..everybody says bla bla bla...bla bla bla...some people says it just B.s.,there is no agreement at all between EK and Qr.
Anyway if you want the answer ,just apply to EK, you don't loose anything.

QR to EK is a definate no. EY taking it easy on QR at about 4 a month. It's a more pleasant working environment and the country way better than Qatar.
