EASA 'suspends' Saudia Maintenance?

Any idea what this might mean in terms of Saudia flying to EASA countries, or if it is just a rumour? I just heard this from people with contacts in KSA.

Subject: EASA suspends Saudia's technical license

The European Aviation Safety Agency has suspended its license for the maintenance branch of Saudia Airlines. The suspension was due to rising concerns of technical irregularites on flights, safety of equipment, and improper maintenance procedures.

The agency whose responsibilities include analysis and research of safety, authorising foreign operators, giving advice for the drafting of EU legislation, implementing and monitoring safety rules (including inspections in the member states), giving type-certification of aircraft and components as well as the approval of organisations involved in the design, manufacture and maintenance of aeronautical products, has apparently lost confidence in the technical branch of the airline to provide an acceptable standard of maintenance and have thus rescinded their license.
