So much negativity here... Is it really that bad? Should I just pull my application out right now? I know that pilots tend to be negative at the best of times but this seems to be more than the norm. These posts are basically scaring the sh*t out of me!

Tony. I think the sequence is "under review", to "shortlisted" and then "SHORTLISTED"

things have really gotten tough lately. More than just usual pilot complaining IMHO. Rosters are extremely crammed, long upgrade for anyone joining now, say goodbye to profit share and pay raises, and to make matters worse prices for everything in Dubai are on the way up. Sadly our salaries are not. Think hard before making any big moves.

Out of curiosity does anyone know how long after the interview it takes for EK to contact you with a result.... And if its positive when do they offer courses?

Cheers

I got an email stating that the current employment push is for Airbus, with Boeing then starting at a later date or on in the year.

Basically standby.

any more non-rated guys being interviewed/assessed/looked at?

If not how long can we expect this to go on for with just rated guys being called?

I know a lot has to do with EK's expansion plans, but with 20 odd (not 44) aircraft arriving this year you would think there would be some movement.

It all seems to have slowed down to a halt!

Edit due inaccurate information..... Thanks wiz of oz...

I don't know where the 44 figure came from. Actual deliveries this year are more like 20, and there will be some retirements- net gain around 12.

Recruitment will be less than 200, and most of those have already been selected and given dates.

Sorry to all waiting, but it will only be a select few this year.

Projected aircraft deliveries.... Does this seem about right?

Although essentially the only question I have is about the NTR folk like myself, as much as I want to work for EK, I can't wait forever for a shot as much as I would like to!

How many different threads are you going to post your flight time? Seriously, all its doing is pointing out the fact that you got hired to some crap LCC with 190 hours and are willing to come to EK for whatever they will give you. But hey, congrats on the interview. You'll probably get the MD-11 sim so study up real hard on that.

My guess is the 380, 330 is done more or or less and the 777 hiring/ courses filled for the year.Might be a few to back fill those that have quit.

Not successful means you're getting passed on. If you didn't interview uou should be able to reapply in less than 24 months.

To the guy with 767 time and shortlisted since sept... I was shortlisted for 10 months...no big deal. They aren't dying gor Boeing guys at the moment. Cheers
