you have to look into that positively... New job, new airline, new country, better salary, new opportunities!! The big ones will be there waiting for you in about 5 years or less, and the A320 left hand seat maybe even before (if you're interested).

Cheers

Aussie

The provident fund is indeed an advantage that EK has over QR but that all depends on what strategy do you choose for them to invest your money.
I know of a case of an almost retiring EK's Captain that during the finantial crisis of 2008 lost more than 400 000$USD of his provident fund.
So even with that benifit you have to be carefull when making your options.

Another thing that I think no one as mentioned is the profit sharing which EK has been making in the last few years and QR never considered!

The two to three years quoted to Command at EK was based on previous command experience, i.e going LHS to LHS at QR v LHS to RHS at EK.

You are correct that if you have lost your job elsewhere due to an airline going bust and QR make it quick and easy to join in the LHS fine but if you get the choice of EK RHS (particularly B777) or QR LHS (A320) then think about your long term ME future carefully as there are so many reasons that EK may be better if you plan to stick around for more that 5 years.

hotline330 says - ''THIS SALVERY LIFE THAT EVERYONE IS HAVING IS DISRESPECTFULL, THESE PEOPLE THEY INVEST A LOT OF MONEY OPENING DESTINATION AND BUYING NEW A/Cs BUT NO INVESMENT ON HUMAN FACTOR ie MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY.''

That sounds an awful lot like Ryanair to me...
