Qatar Command Upgrade on A320

Does anyone know how long it takes to upgrade to command on the 320 at Qatar? I know they tell you a minimum of three years during the interview. How long does it really take?

At the moment it seems to be running at about 4-5 years, depends on hours and training record too.

I have heard that they are trying to recruit fewer DEC's, this year the command upgrades will be approx 110 with majority on the 320. I would think also that because EK have opened up their DEC recruitment that those thinking of moving to the Middle East may feel bypass QR for the better T&C's at Emirates and the lifestyle in Dubai.

QR also hiring some more senior DECS (some over 60). Anticipate this is to fill a short period where they need a Captain, but anticipate being able to upgrade within the next few years when the fellows will be leaving at 65.

What do you mean by "just hired 60 A320 DEC from Spainair"??
Did they all received the contract already?? Or they just made the selection program (tailor made for them in Madrid) and are waiting for the contract as all the other DEC's that made the program around the same time ( end of February)??

yes a lot of spainair all ready here , its seem they give them priority
