A question for EK pilots

Hi guys,

I will be joining emirates soon on the airbus fleet.
I have a question regarding ANR headsets.
You you guys get issued individual ones, or do you use the aircraft ones?

If so, what type of headset Does EK use?

Hi G109, the aircraft has its own headsets for each crew. We have the Sennheiser HME 46 on the A332 and A343; the A345 have the ANR HMEC 46.

If you are bringing your own, get it with the XLR 5 connector.

There is a Sennheiser rep. in DXB if you need further info send me a PM.

No hot mic at EK either so a good noise cancelling headset is slightly pointless as you cannot hear the other guy when it's on

No hot mike? All airbus aircraft do have hot mike interphone systems don't they.

Ummm... Airbus works fine with ANR headset!!!!! Are you on the John Deere fleet?

B777 works by yelling at each other..... they took off the open ic button.....

some must have calculated a 25 Filles saving....

That would make a saving of just over 25 dirhams and that money would buy them a A343
