EY Accomodation...

Hi guys EY website says Fo's are given up to AED 160k per annum for housing,so how does this work?Does this mean that you can get less then 160k and it is up to company discretion?Do you get to choose company accomodation or the cash?thank you

You will get up to 160k (maximum) per year, if you rent your own flat. In this case you have to show them the signed lease contract, after which they will reimburse you the money up to a maximum of 160k.
Or you can choose to stay in company accommodation (a flat or a villa if you're married), in which case you don't need to worry about a thing.

Really? since when ? i've been living out for the past 4 yrs.. never asked to produce anything.

I think you get the cash in full once you live out, however from what i've hear its not easy to get the approval to move out now, not sure why, but maybe someone else can add clarification to this issue.

good luck.

you can choose between either company provided accomodation or housing allowance
if you choose housing allowance and you rent on your own a flat/villa you will get the 160k aed amount whatever you spend

Not really - you get the full housing allowance and then do what you want with it. If you feel like slumming it you can get a studio in RAK for 25k and pocket the rest.

Thank you for your feedback guys...so from what I can see is you get the 160k full if you wish to stay by your self...and how about company accomodation? Is it ok?Which would be a better option to take company accomodation or to stay by your self?Any feedback is much appreciated.....

bmwm5 I cannot help you on EY company accomm but there are studios and 1 bed apartments of very high standard in the new Al Bandar complex, Raha Beach - approx 10kms only from AUH Airport. Studio is around 90k AED p.a. unfurnished and 1 bed at about 110k AED. Gym, 3 swimming pools, Spinneys Supermarket and liquor store all on site. Underground parking. Coffee shops and restaurants opening very soon. Marina for your boat !! Yas Island hotels and F1 circuit, Ferrari World theme park are 7kms away via the tunnel for R&R.

(I am unfortunately having to give up my little studio pad in Al Bandar as I've relocated to Doha)

The Raha Beach development has a load of new buildings just about to be released so availability will be good and prices might even come down a little.

Lots of slightly less desirable studios and small apartments in Khalifa City A which is also close to the airport. (No pool - finishings sometimes less than perfect)
160K (if you can get it all) will give you lots of change.
