Airplane rental in Dubai?

Where does one go to rent a Cessna 152 or a Piper Cherokee in Dubai? And how much do those rentals go?

And if you're visiting Dubai, can you get a checkout and rent a plane to fly alone/with a friend, or do you have to convert licenses before that can happen?

Not QUITE true-

Experience a New World :: Emirates Flying School

This is a small GA school that operates at DXB. Probably very expensive, and no, you can't just get checked out and hire an aircraft, but you could probaly do a Dual flight.

Jazirah Aviation - Home

This is an Ultra-light club in Ras Al Khama

I've been looking to hire in UAE as well, and struggling.

Fujairah Aviation Academy will hire you a C172 for AED950 / hour (==£160!!!!), but seem reluctant to do so!

Emirates don't hire privately.

Horizon Flight Academy Horizon International Flight Academy don't hire privately.

Jazirah have Light Sport Aircraft at good prices, but I'm not sure if this can be logged towards hour building for PPL, CPL, etc. Anyone know?

Any new pointers reflecting on this aspect??

I'm off to Dubai coming Monday and I'm wondering if I could rent an aircraft to fly around.

Why don't you just rent a plane on some of your layovers. I know someone who does this in several cities.
