Some pilots like it, others not.

The problem here is not Qatar as a country/place, but rather QR as a company/employer.

Prior to your duty, you should leave your brain at home. Don't question anything and do your job following the rules by the letter - if you can, because ME airlines are not interested in ones opinion, experience and professionalism. To adapt yourself to the rules, you should stop being human and become a machine.

Furthermore, personal issues are a too big a factor here. For example, chief pilots or fleet managers can block you from fleet transfer, command upgrade or even cancel or change your previously confirmed leave just like that, without your knowledge. Training managers and TRE/TRI's can, and some of them do occasionally, mess up your career by sacking you in the SIM or grade you too low on a check. Unjustified and for personal reasons (or order 'from above').

There is no single rule to prevent the destruction of each others career for personal reasons. Staff is ecouraged to report behind each others back. This is intended, the 'system' QR is a punitive system.

The crewing dept. is just a joke! We at QR refer to it as the 'mafia dept'. Modifying the rosters after they have been produced by the system and giving some pilots a very hard time, in particular on the 320 fleet. The quality of the pilots's lifestyle is, unfortunately, very much in the hand of these crewing people. Despite the many rules in the company, for rostering issues seniority does not count at all!

There are simply too many rules, which restrict you from doing this and that and are operationally not relevant.

You may like it or not, it all depends on your personal background, the fleet you're on and who you have to deal with.

Good Luck and Happy Landings

Fedaliera, why so full of hate and racism? First you get yourself in a tricky situation in this forum then you go down in flames talking about air macau. Like i said....time to take a long hard look in the mirror. Oh and yeah this is a forum for pilots....not a guy who had to re-do his A320 type to get into QR........oh yeah...we know...
