I need my money!!

Hi, do any of you guys know if you get your salary faster if you are with Emirates NDB, HSBC och any other bank?? I havenīt been here that long so I really need my money at the end of the month and for the transfers back to the old country one day can make quite a difference,

Well Eric! that would also depend on who you work for, as they have their preferred bank which then sends money out to other banks in the first place! You might want to mention that so others working in the same company as yourself can provide some input?.
Im guessing you might be with EK perhaps? maybe someone from there can enlighten you.I found HSBC is generally a little faster at paying me than NBD.. thats If I get paid!!!!...?

Unfortunately all salaries have to go through the central bank of the UAE before being dispersed into your bank account. No matter which bank.

My theory is they are going to play with the big deposit EK just gave them for as long as possible.

On that note, the salaries are a little late this month, like was said earlier, the central bank probably collecting interest....

Ek have never been late with my salary in eight and a half years, it has always arrived on the 26th including today.
I bank with HSBC but I know people with other banks who have sometimes received their pay after the 26th.

NBD, in there between 2 & 4pm. Not sure exactly when as dozed off with phone in hand

They have never been late with mine either, though sometimes it arrives early AM and others not until the end of the day.

Never, ever had a late salary from EK. There maybe plenty to moan about at EK. Late salary payments isn't one of them. Well done EK

Excuse me?
You are congratulating your employer for paying you on time as per your contract?
I am surrounded by idiots.
You make me sick the lot of you.

Thrash,

Perhaps you should read some of the other threads about payment. Prestige Jet and Wataniya come to mind.

This is not the UK or Aus or even the US. The legal system is VERY different.

So yes, for once, I do appreciate the company paying me on time. All the time. Clearly so do others.

Thanks for your thoughts.....maybe your doctor can help with your sickness

Get well soon!

Given that my previous employer/s in Oz frequently 'forgot' to account for public holidays, and having my pay delayed by up to 4 days as a result, I don't think EK do too badly in this respect. If you were familiar with the frequent eff-ups in other departments & the "Dubai runaround" that one often encounters then you might understand why getting paid on the 26th like they say we will is actually a pretty good feat in this place!!!
