UAE to reserve one-fifth of all company jobs for Nationals

The latest pie in the sky dream from the Ministry of Silly Walks;

UAE to reserve one-fifth of jobs for nationals -paper, UAE General News - Maktoob News

Can't wait to see 200 locals 48 floors up in 50 degree heat carting bags of cement, building yet another unused skyscraper alongside their 800 Bangladeshi colleagues.

These guys are quick to come up with these "politically correct" statements to allay (other) fears. They will not be able to fill out the projected 1/5 in the next 20 years unless they employ other GCC nationals or if the business goes down so badly that they will be left alone fending for themselves. That will take a long time though with so many events going on in the next decade or two.
True, they fill the top spots with local management and the real work is done by others, and they claim the laurels.

What is it supposed to be currently - 10%? Look out for a further 10% (roughly) drop in effectiveness/productivity then! And more unused reserved spaces in the car park!
