Well I see his point Emirates and Qatar have 20 and 9 years ish respectively on Etihad but EY is the Government airline with Government money!

Abu Dhabi's 2030 vision says that it can't be a world player without its own airline! Plus the 'Ohh look at my train set' rule must surely play here, I think it will be rather embarrassing for the big cheeses in Abu Dhabi to see their airline fail!!!

Still EY should be ok for the rest of my 5 year plan hehe!

Safe Flying,

Scud...

He's right in my opinion.

I presume that's why Etihad is going down the low cost route.

Surely EK have already achieved the goal? Yes more expansion coming but how many passengers and aircraft already in the system and look at the profits. It;s one thing establishing your global hub, its another thing turning a profit. Don't think EY and QR will ever do so....

The quickest way to reduce the size of your soverign fund!

I think even their HRHs in Abu Dubs have discovered that the quickest way to make a vast fortune into a smaller vast fortune is to run a loss making airline! and that hurts.

As to whether Etihad will fail...........................depends on how much the HRHs are comfortable with loosing before they are prepared to take the "face loss" or Regional Reorganisation as it could be touted to the press.

In any case, there must be a lot of extra cash sloshing around at AUH; during a recent visit I was surprised to see so many BMW 5-series ramp vehicles.

Etihad will see BA wither and die, unfortunately, (Unless Willie Wonka goes, and the unions get sorted BY THEIR MEMBERS)

Virtually no limits to capital in AUH, and as said earlier, it's their train set !!

Still, Allah knows many ways _ _ _ _ !!
