Apres Emirates
About 70% of the people I've flown with lately have said that they plan to leave as soon as possible.
Me too.
That being said there seems to be little point in hundreds of us each individually canvassing the contractors and airlines to see what is available.
Might a thread where we post our various findings (or even more valuable, our after-Emirates experience) be sufficiently popular to be self-sustaining?
For example, I can tell you that the salary at Air China Cargo has come up 20% in the short time that they have been advertising and that Korean now offers more time on your chosen base each month than what is actually written in the ads.

Well Jackie B., attacking the messenger....Glad you are so very happy here and want to give your pound of flesh to your employer. I totally agree with the original poster. He said 70% wanted to leave, not that 70% were leaving. I haven't flown with too many that want to stay here long term and the rosters we are flying are accelerating the desire to leave. The package I agree is fair, but the hours, time off, rostering practices are hurting pilots physically and doing nothing for their personal and family lives. Is it better anywhere else? Well, that's what our friend here is attempting to find out. And as one of the head shed heads recently said in a wash up training day......if you can't handle it, just pack your bags, it's not going to get much better any time soon. Hell, even Capt. America is actively looking or so I hear. Does that not say a little something? So what's wrong with putting some info here on these forums about some other opportunities. If you want to stay, might even help with your upgrade time.

I would even go further:
Maybe some Airlines can start posting their offers as well....
So everybody that is reading that threat get's first hand info's.
Why not fishing for qualified people in the right pond?

Here's one for your info.

FLIGHT CREW INTERNATIONAL (A340 Captains (Requires 10000 TT) - Turkey)
Tel: (214) 705-7979
Web Site: http://www.flightcrewint.com
Let's not get into the merits of each job posted here, that can be found elsewhere on PPrune. How about just listing jobs found on other sites. This might help out some poor guy dealing with family issues because of our rosters.

A340 Captain
This is what was on the web site
I thought 1000 TT was a tad low for the requirements!!!!
Turkish Airlines A340 Captains
- 1,000 PIC hours on-type plus 500 hours on another widebody Airbus aircraft
- 10,000 hours total time
- Current Commander/Captain
- Current, valid FAA/JAA/ICAO ATPL
MIC 310

Just to add a little to the THY job. Don't know what the rates are on the 340, but the rates on the 777 for capt are 12,500 U.S. after taxes and every 3 months an added 1/2 mo's pay for a bonus. No more 777 captains for right now. 70 hour month. There is also a housing allowance added to that. Not sure what that is.

No but you will be.
At yourself.
No job is worth leaving for the pit.
Only come if you're out of one, or might be out of one shortly.
Look at the US West Coast. Virgin is expanding, now would be the moment.

Guys, This could be a good thread, if some of you dont get carried away with 70% dissatisfaction or was it 67,4%.
If you have good info on jobs and you are willing to share. Please post for us guys sitting on the fence, not know what to do
If virgin is hiring, well then tell us about it. I cant go, but an American can...

For the Ozies and kiwis,
Singapore Airlines Cargo, DEC 747-400 also non rated!
Local or expat contract.
To be honest do not think many people wil be leaving. Have been hearing this for years, never happend. This is still one of the better packages out there.
Would be nice if guys would stop the whining and crying on the flightdeck and keep it for pprune. That would make the job a lot easier. Its a hard enough job already without the bul****ting.
My 2 cents

A Singapore Cargo captain (with a family) total package (expat) is worth about the same as an EK copilot so unless you're desperate to get out of the ME there's no use heading for Singapore.
And for commuting... The rosters change on a daily basis and you have very expensive staff travel so it's very difficult. There are some who do it but they get very few days at home. Most of the guys that commutes have left for Korean or ANA.

Anyone in contact with a recent evacuee who headed for Korean? I was told that at some of the more populated bases one could achieve a rotation something more like 7 days on/7days off as opposed to what is strictly written in the contract.
