NIKOLA you staf # is 21000-22000 something? you should be on 320 for a long time and let all the 4000-8000 staff numbers transfer before you. Why you want to jump the line?

Fairness

Guys, take it easy on Nikola, he has a valid point here regarding the hard working, 320 fleet, while the company is hiring 320 pilots directly on the 330! Plus the policy of Right to Left promotion on the wide body fleets; it only means longer service time for the 320 pilots.

The size doesn't matter, but life style does, so we should not deny the long serving pilots on the 320 the right to move forward rather than CCQing the new joiners 320 direct to the 330.

No one said the 20000 something S/N should move before the 4000 S/N, but we saw many of 30000 S/N, who joined as Non Type Rated on the 330 and 777 while the 320 people are watching with grief.

Not only the transfer ..what is happening in roster department is totally unfair as well (A-320).
-I'm "impress" sometime by the Lovely roster some of the new joiners enjoy it here!!
I wish i can have one like that ..at least once!!
Seems that roster deteriorates with seniority..!

My friend from A300F told me that some F/O will be upgraded from right to left seat.
They have been only 2-3 years in QA.

That must be a joke!

Anyway, what about more senior F/O's on A320/330/777?
They should have priority even if that means transfer to A300F

Fairness & logic means:

1-Stop Hiring Captain.(like EY&EK)
2-Upgrade people on 320! (you can't demand everything..upgrade and wide body at the same time..build up good experience on 320 (lot of sectors)and than move up again..330..340..777..).
3-Move the 320 SENIOR guys (F/O&CPT) to 330 or 340 or 777...
4-STOP hiring 320 rated guys for the.. 330 Fleet simply because otherwise they will not come here but rather go to EY,AA..on 320!
5-Last but not least..make the 320 fleet more "attractive" (special allowance(as before)-balanced/fair roster..) would maybe solve nr4 issue..
Long way to go....

So suppose a new hire at QR today is given the 320. What kind of progression would he expect? Does QR keep new 320 pilots on for 500 hrs or 1000hrs, then CCQ them to A330? If not, then what is the typical progression for a new 320 pilot?

There are 2 cases:
-If you are already rated A-320 when you join the company you might move after ..3.. years on 330 or 340 or 777 ...and then be upgraded after another ..3.. years on..320?..330? 777? who knowns.
-If you are non rated..you might stay on 320...till your upgrade(on A-320)...5... years.
But in Qatar Airways there is no general rules and policy regarding pilot's career progression..so what is true today may not be tomorrow.

Most people I know who came 320-rated joined on 330.
Regional guys went on the MiniBus.

It appears that -

For F/O's

-Regional drivers (Dash, Embraer etc) seem to go on A320
-Any Boeing experience will go 777 - although that said i've only flown Boeing and was given a choice 330 or 777
-Any Airbus guys A320/330 go A330

As for Capt's

-Any Boeing driver with wide body command time will go DEC 777
-Any Boeing driver with shorthaul command time will go DEC 320
-Any Airbus driver with wide body command time will go DEC 330 (although some have gone DEC 320)

EY will stop hiring QR pilots

QR & EY will stop hiring each other pilots.

The great number of QR pilots applying to join Etihad was the main reason for this move.
Typical management style in this part of the world, instead of improving the conditions....block your pilots path in other airlines.

But how can QR ban them from joining the remaining world airlines?

Out of interest, can anyone give me numbers of DECs that QR has recently hired and how many are coming from the Gulf carriers , like GF or EK?

Hi to all!

Just a simple question to those of you flying for QR:

I assisted a recruitment for QR and after passed all of the tests and interviwes, I failed the sim ride after almost 5 hours waiting for my turn at sim facilities (A330 sim and I'm A320 rated... I think I was just too tired).

Is QR allowing candidates to assist again to new recuitment session?

By then, R.N. said it was possible one year later if cause was not a draft because of personal interview...... Any info regarding this?

Many thanks.
