Good news indeed BUT..As a pilot I have a more practical question&concern:
For how long our ACTUAL congested/saturated Doha airport&ATC will be able to cope with such an increase in traffic& destination without any MAJOR upgrade in order to achieve smooth & cost efficient and safe operation(fuel,ATC...)?

I think the problem is that most of the flights depart at the same time and
arrive together plus the single frequency for DEP and APR 121.100
and a single one for GRND and TWR 118.900

Useless as long as we still have a single taxiway(oops sorry 2 now) a single runway and a single ATC controller(really a safety issue when the weather is bad overhead doha!),one SID,NO STARS,NO SLOT... on top of that fighters,helicopters and college aircrafts still using the same airport..Nothing Changed on the above subject for the last ..10 years...despite the HUGE increase of traffic here!
