Saudi on foreign registration

Does anyone know if you can operate domestic flights on a short term contract (six months or so) in Saudi without putting the aircraft on the Saudi register?

Incorrect, they do not operate domestically within Saudi Arabia........ what they are actually doing is operating under Saudi Arabian Airlines operations specifications, whilst airlines such as NAS operate VP registered aircraft.

So you really have to define what you mean by "Operate".

I have seen over the past few months some Saudi registered HZ 727 based in Bahrain flying ACMI for DHL.

Earl, the 727's and the Metros were always HZ registered........

ineluctable... you still haven't defined "operate"...... if its private then it doesn't really matter, if 141 then make sure they pay you up front and have the required license, actually that applies for 121 and 135 as well......

If its the "grey" market, then buyer beware!

This would be for an ems operation so there would be no fare paying passengers.

Saudi Red Crescent are presently operating around 3-4 helicopters, I think that they are still on the US register, they are expected to obtain about 20 aircraft, both rotary and fixed wing (Even an A319). As you would be operating under their AOC, the registration isn't an issue.

Its the same as PEME operating the cloud seeding aircraft with "N" numbers and even the local flight school.

From a commercial point of view, the local caveat applies, get your money up front!
