Tbilisi?

Can anyone share some info or advice on work in Georgia? Are they still running old school Russian-style metric ATC and such? Employment standards? I'm coming from African contract work so I'm accustomed to the dark pits of hell. I would think this has to be an improvement.

Controlling there is fine; all European standards and efficient. Things on the ground happen slowly; not sure who you're handling through, we use AFS & they're great. Best wishes.

Nope, pass through there occasionally. Doesn't look like much happens there at all. I'd be very circumspect in getting involved in anything there unless you are of Georgian descent & nationality; there are better places to be as an expat.

thanks

well I had two offer from them
first Capt /Chief pilot on B737 than nothing. After a while Capt on Saab 340 then nothing
then back again Saab 340 capt.but the offer was too low,3000 usd per month and that is all.
The question was ? why do they look for Cpt on B737 and than they give the same airplane to Nasair airline ?
I really was looking forward to fly the B737 with Georgian airways but I could not get the right contact.
Thanks for the info

I for got to say that after I was board of the airplane of georgian Airways , the D/O and ground worker came to me with a police officer and they ask me to give them back the copy of my contract , they even delay the flight for this.I was forced to give them back the copy of my contract signed with them one week before.
Just remember this

The operation there is SCAM, all of them are connected one way or another to there CAA, they do what they like. As of the 737 pilots, they left the company to fly 747 with a cargo based there, they flew and appoint themself as anything, chief pilot, D/O, instructor, check airman, ...etc, you name it, it's only a matter of time until the CAA find out about there operation in general and will go down all of them as.
Fly safe,

B737

I am currently flying a B737-300 for Air Batumi. Im based in Kabul, Afghanistan. Just doing it while im off from my main job. They are running a Saab 340 out of Tblisi to Batumi and back.I heard we are going to need B737 captains here, if anyone is interested let me know.
