What do you mean? We have had SCABS at this airline for years (DEC's), yet I never once held that against them. They took advantage of the situation that EK presented. It's not THEIR fault that this airline has little respect for pilots, IT'S OUR FAULT!
Geeze, if I was resigning and my new job didn't start for several months, then I too would consider a 50% payrise, no night turns and whatever else those clowns have come up with to entice pilots to stay longer.
I don't owe my fellow pilots at EK..... ****E, other than being a decent person towards them, treating them with respect and never back-stabbing someone. This puts me immediately ahead of about 10% of us, sadly.
Yeah, we have a good bunch of guys to hang out with, fly with, and have a pint with. And in spite of our diversity I find almost all flights enjoyable with my colleagues. But since EK has been so masterful in 'dividing and conquering us' and we like flying big shiny big jets, they have the upper hand. You don't think EK takes into account a persons general disposition when they hire us?
There is no LOW to which EK will not stoop!
Lying about T&C's to prospective joiners
Accomodation issues that are much more than a nuisance but have actually contributed to family discord
Altering FTL's, without concern for fatigue
Altering FTL's only based on 'commercial' concerns
Firing individuals to cover their asses
Sending out an FCN/FCI/OEB/email each an every day........ to cover THEIR asses and without any concern for flight safety
Hiring individuals like TCAS who are experts in lying..... and covering their asses
Let me give a small but perfect example of the insanity of this place. When we check in, we have to show one ID to get into the tiny little gate that barely holds a human being, then we have to present our finger print to EXIT the gate on the other side...... and then we have to click on about 10 items confirming we have met ALL REQUIREMENTS to do a flight. Then we have to proceed thru security while some moron is playing solitary on the computer while we basically undress in their presence to assure we are not plotting some dastardly deed....... on OUR FLIGHT!
This all takes place about 50 minutes before we are credited for our time at work....... FOR FLIGHT DUTY regulations.
Run away from this ****e-hole as fast as you can. EK is appalling when it comes to human beings. Dubai...... amazingly enough, is about 10 times worse in general. Damn, wish I could leave this cesspool tomorrow.
